The Schweer Harms Fischerhaus is a great stopover option for all fish lovers visiting Steinhude. The restaurant has a very friendly service and is located in the middle of the beautiful town of Steinhude. It serves a wide range of different types of fish that even a picky palate won't get disappointed.

I came to this suburb of Wunstorf as I had read the good review of the other Italian Restaurant about 600m away (Trattoria) but as it was Tuesday it was closed so I came here instead. It was a beautiful warm evening in May and I was stunned to see this restaurant annexed to a openair swimming area where the water is completely without chemicals due to natural filtration. A very simple Italian restaurant where the indoors is quite nice and the outside seating is fast food atmosphere which I found a real shame. However the house red is very cheap at only euro 3.50 for a 2dl glass and my pizza was also good value at euro 8. There are a few more choices such as pasta (which I had for lunch) and grilled steak. The pizza was not in a pizza ofen but tasted as if it had been. All in all a very nice experience especially if you can combine it with swimming!

I visited the Wunstorfer Ratskeller on a Sunday lunchtime after having a birthday party the night before. We went there with 7 people and had a very nice German Schnitzel and Steaks. The food was very well presented and the taste was as good as the presentation. The service was excellent as the waitress was very attentive and always asked if we need some top up on drinks or food. The price was ok for the food and the service. Will return when I am in town.

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening at this restaurant in a quieter part of the Meer, away from some of the noise and clamour of the crowds yet still offering an excellent view of the water with sun on its terrace.I enjoyed a traditional Rahmsauce Schnitzel with chips and my wife the Labskaus. This was quickly served by a very pleasant waiter and washed down with a beer and then coffee.Whilst we enjoyed the ambiance of the terrace as the sun descended, the inside of the restaurant also looked very comfy and so we shall return. The restaurant is also a cafe and offers refreshment throughout the day. Recommended.

This restaurant is ideal for taking in the views with a wonderful outlook from its high terrace. It offers a superb venue to eat and has a massive retractable hood to cope with rain if it should arrive. The service was functional and a little lacking in warmth and the food was good & tasty but nothing special. I choose the schnitzel which came with chips, and while the gravy with thick and loaded with mushrooms, the salad was a slice of cucumber, on a slice of tomato on a single leaf of lettuce! While I loved the view and the location, the meal was just average. I would recommend it but only as somewhere to eat and not somewhere to dine ...but it does have that view!
