What a surprise to have a first class restaurant in a small town.We came to this place because the other restaurant I wanted to go was closed on Tuesday. This restaurant is really classy. Unlike many other restaurants, this restaurant had real white table cloth and napkins.I had a âmenuâ which was consisted of potato soup, celery root schnitzel and a dessert. It was only 19.50 Euro. Everything was delicious.I had this celery root schnitzel for the first time. I think that I try to make this dish after I go back to the States. I like celery root.I highly recommend this place.

Culinary delights in a former children's home. Ronny Kabai is a gastronomic man who make their guests feel very welcome. The Landhaus Spatzenhof offers a range of local and international cuisine and a great selection of wine. The restaurant has undergone
we have booked a weekend arrangement in Spatzenhof for a wanderer arrangement. This was already suggested by the owner at the moment of booking where we have asked for a two rooms and diners to taste their kitchen. This was most affordable so we were already pleasantly surprised by the hotel owner. Our expectations were fullfilled : extraorinarely well prepared food, profesional and very helpful personnel. First dinner was 4 courses complemented with sommelier suggestions on wine and we have very much enjoyed. Second dinner was even better what was really a surprise : gourmet 6 courses with especially sole fish made so gently that it was an experience you keep on thinking. No wonder Michelin star is expected to be added !Rooms are theme based and have perfect beds : anatomically shaped, wide, bathroom has just everything you wish (even music !)We had a cabrio tour through this part of Germany and Spatzenhof proved to be a perfect start and endpoint of a trip. Absolutely fabulous adress for a romantic or gourmet weekend.

We visit this Restaurant occasionally. It has got an excellent kitchen with very good Food, everything freshly made. The Service is very friendly and charming. The choice of Food and beverages is excellent. When you come by car, choose the parking directly under the old church named "Parkhaus Altstadt Lennep". It is just "around the Corner".

The weather was perfect to sit outside in the main Market Square of Radevormwald. The place was humming with people, the service was attentive/efficient and the food delicious. The portions are generous, the beer and the wine selection was good - recommend Schnitzel with potatoes.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Zur Mühle . I have visited this restaurant many times and the food is exquisite, the service is top class and the ambience is delightful. It is a very high class restaurant with a very high standard. If you are not lucky enough to live in Kürten it is very much worth taking a drive. If you want eat at the weekend remember to book ahead.

We wanted to invite our neighbours for Sunday lunch recently and I searched high and low on Tripadvisor for that special Landhaus style place out in the Bergische Land countryside. Christian's Gasthaus seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. From Leverkusen the drive out to Wipperfurth is ca. 45 minutes if you cruise at a leisurely, Sunday pace. We arrived over a very rural road, finding the restaurant nestled in a small valley. So far so good. There was plenty of free parking outside which was also positive. Inside there was a warm welcome - we were just slightly taken aback by the fact that there was only one couple having lunch - we had the place almost entirely to ourselves - at least for the first hour or so... The Sunday lunchtime menu was rather spartan but all of us were able to find something to eat. I was really looking forward to seasonal roast goose which was available as "Confit de Gans" with loads of chestnuts, red cabbage and "Serviettenknoedel" (by the way I thought that the asking price of 27 Euro for this dish was rather steep!). I found that it was all rather dry even though I asked for extra sauce. Others in the party had currywurst and Bratkartoffeln, Tafelspitze with the trimmings etc. My wife went for a dish comprising almost excelusively of Serviettenknoedel. She seemed to enjoy it... As we were tucking in to our main meal, rather surprisingly the place started to fill up. In fact by the time we came to order dessert were warned that there could be some time in briniging our food to the table - particularly as a large group of family & friends had occupied the back room. We weren't under any major tim pressure but certainly service was stretched as more and more people arrived for afternoon tea/coffee and Bergische waffles. Seeing the waffles on the other tables prompted us to order them as well for dessert- freshly made with loads of warm cherries & cream. A coffee at the end did just the trick of rounding off a nice enough afternoon. At the end of the afternoon I came to pay and I think I bumped into Christian in his kitchen. He was keen to try out his English on me which was nice. What was a shock, however was the fact that he doesn't accept any plastic cards - only cash. As our meal came to 150 Euro this left me stunned. Fortunately I had just enough cash in my packet, but... So be warned - you need cash to eat here.

We have been there long years ago from start - it was always good. Now we visited after a long time again with mixed impressions. Make your own mind up :The service was very friendly and "on the ball ".On a Sunday, the restaurant was full to the brim and people come from afar. The served soup was simply cold to warmish - for a potato like soup no good. The later served Filet tips of pork loin were simply cooked too long.My cordon bleu was huge in size and very nice and tasteful. The fried potatoes swimming in fat.All served salads were not fit to serve. The kitchen probably pre dressed and arranged them a while before lunch time, so the leaved were soggy.
