My waitress was friendly. She didn't speak English and I don't speak German (I'm sorry that I don't) but she was still very professional and friendly; I'm thankful for that! The food was good & excellently priced for what I ordered. Atmosphere was simple but not irrelevant. There's a few turn-offs, but more of a management thing than the staff. If I was closer in walking distance I'd return, but won't go out of my way to go. If you can walk to it, I recommend eating here.

I spent a lot of time in Weiden, and I really like this place. The menu ranged from traditional Bavarian to some interesting fusions with seafood-based sauces and ingredients. One unique feature I noticed while I was there is a pretty good scotch cabinet, so if you happen to find yourself in Weiden and want scotch and Bavarian food look no further.

A friend highly recommended this restaurant. I was not disappointed. I received a menu in both German and English. Really enjoyed the artistic spring roll, shrimp appetizer. Main dish was the turkey, chicken, beef grilled meat dish with potatoes. It was excellent, I liked the stuffing on top of the meat and the potatoes tasted so good! The house salad was very good, with arugula and pine nuts among other ingredients. Friendly service, nice decent prices. Would highly recommend!

We had supper at this restaurant and enjoyed it very much. They had some interesting soups, my husband's mushroom soup was wonderful, and I tried something different, asparagus soup, but not creamed, more of a broth. Our main courses were very good too. Service took a little time, but not when you consider that there was one woman doing it all, she sure could work. In the pedestrian zone of the city, so it's easy to find.

I love this place! Living in weiden, I go here at least two to four times a month with my friends. The food is beyond amazing and the steak menu is to die for. Best mixed drinks in town! The menu is small, but it changes frequently with what is in season. You also get white glove service for the same price as any other weiden resturant. Very classy place, I have done serval get togethers with friends here. It's very to book in advance and pick out a menu for an event. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. While the service is the typical European slow, it is worth the wait. Some things on the menu are a bit pricy, but it's definitely worth it. I'd also recommend going here for the Sunday brunch buffet. You must go here if you are ever in weiden.
Where to eat Italian food in Weiden: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Went with family stationed nearby and had a very good time. Great atmosphere, delicious food and first-rate beer. There were four adult and three pretty small children so the small room they gave us was perfect--just separated enough from other diners. The schnitzel, as you would expect, was large and very tasty. Enough for take-home to continue to enjoy the next day. The kid's curry wursts were much enjoyed. The art work is pretty amazing.

In August a friend and I were eagerly hopeful that we might be able to experience the culinary ambience of Italy in our city of Weiden. We had just returned from a two-week stay in that country, a location dear to our hearts. We scanned the local papers/magazines, and we stumbled across a review of this place. Within two days we were seated there and enjoying what surely must be one of the best pizzas north of the Alps. How lucky we were, for now, instead of having to train or fly south for a pizza, we can simply drive across the city for a nice taste of Italy imagining that we were still in Italy on a breezy summer's day!

OK ⦠so I goofed up and ordered something that I didn't expect -- thinking my translation meant "fish soup" and what I got was more like a form of very fishy ceviche with cream and onions. Dee. Lish. Us. My mistranslated appetizer turned out to be a Bavarian dish I'd never heard of, but will definitely order again. But if all you want is a plateful of Nurnberg rostbratwurst and rotkohl, or schnitzel, or medallions of pork in a mushroom sauce ⦠along with fresh draft pils and dunkel beers -- Brauwirt is your place.
