Terrible ! Sour souce tartar, gnocci from yesterday, fast frozen ingredients in liver dumpling soup, coke from machine. Never again ! In Hungarian: Borzalmas ! Romlott tartár, állott nokedli, mirelit májgombóc, gépi kóla. Soha többé !

We had dinner on the occasion of my parents' wedding anniversary, here. We didn't inform the staff about this, so we didn't receive any special service. It was my first time there, while the rest of my family had already been familiar with the place. We were seated on the patio where we had access to the 2 cats who were happy if we petted them, but weren't nosy at all.I ordered fish and got help with the wine selection. Even though they were out of most wines, I ended up with one of the most delicious wines of my life. The waitress gently convinced my sister and my mother to try the wild mushroom soup and they didn't regret it at all.The portions are just right. They don't look big, but you can eat everything until the last bite. And although they're happy to pack you any leftovers, it's nice to start your meal without the thought: Okay, half of this will be packed up.The prices are reasonable, too.We were just lamenting over the thought of hosting our foreign guests in the pension of the restaurant when a neighbouring family started a loud family row, so we actually don't know if we should recommend our foreign friends to stay here or not.All in all, it was a pleasant evening.

We had reserved a table and were given one with the lake view. Very good menu with "daily chef's specials" and good Hungarian wine list. We enjoyed friendly attentive service from a young multilingual man and the food was very tasty and nicely presented. Frankly a vegetarian amongst us didn't find more than one or two options however. I would call the style "Hungarian with a touch of international". We were more than satisfied and would recommend this restaurant.

The menu offers a large variaty of traditional fare as well but with some influence from the West European chefs. Very well served and delicious. Make sure to make reservation because it can be quite busy in the summer months!

This was our second visit to this exceptional farm kitchen- countryside restaurant.Short but well balanced menu, focusing on seasonal ingredients. Top quality dishes served by professional well trained and knowledgeable staff. The egg consommé was probably in the top 3 soups we have ever eaten, just perfect! Finally we had the chance to taste the divine mille feuille, as last time it was sold out by the time we have finished our lunch.Platan restaurant has a higher price range than most other Hungarian countryside restaurants, but its well worth the money.

Popped in here late because it seemed to be the only place open. But a great surprise. A wonderful menu in many languages. Plus a terrific waiter who was able to converse in English, German and Hungarian. Food was great. Our waiter made some good wine recommendations. We had a memorable time.
