Small and cozy restaurant in the heart of the beautiful district of Karlova. The menu offers several options for meat lovers as well as for vegetarians, while pasta lovers will be happily satisfied with Italian ravioli. Appetizers are a must and they are
Jakobi Jalats is located on Tähe street right next to its sister bar "Barlova". Together they make a good combination of a meet and greet hotspot in the heart of Karlova. The menu is healthy and has multiple good choices for vegetarians and for not-so-big meat lovers. If you want to have a perfect evening in Tartu, then food in Jakobi and after beer in Barlova will grant it.
Had a burger and a long island icetea, which they didnt have in menu, but the waitress looked it up on internet and made it for us for an OK price. The food was not fantastic, but had good price/taste ratio. Would visit again.

The Villa Margaretha restaurant is tucked away in a basement but has windows onto the street outside. Its stone walls are adorned with vibrant paintings, creating an intimate atmosphere. The restaurant is the perfect place for both business lunches and sp
This is much better than what you might expect from a small town's small hotel's restaurant. We had a three course meal on one night and just an appetizer and a dessert the other night. Everything is of high quality, well prepared, and presented with care. It's very good value for money. I can recommend the mushroom quiche, the chicken pasta, and the house cake (apple pie with vanilla). The only issues were the dry chicken and the other day's service, which wasn't up to par - very slow and they just didn't seem to care. That was offset by the outstanding service we got the first night, though.

Tavern Hansa Tall has two halls which seat up to 80 people. The tavern is built in real hanseatic style with mediaeval surroundings and offers Estonian meals. Here you can have receptions, lunches and dinners for groups. In summer you can have a nice time
I came here after I couldn't get into Olle Tare. It was a good choice as I found myself in a restaurant with great atmosphere, affordable prices and good portions. The food itself was nothing spectacular but I can't really complain about it. I asked for traditional Estonian dishes and they didn't let me down. The waitress was chatty and happy to explain everything in-depth.The alcoholic beverages were a bit expensive for my budget except for the beers. The place was all but full when I was there but I can imagine it could get really crowdy on a Friday night.

New restaurant in the old place. We do have the best tapas selection, very good daily special menus and fantastic a la carte menu. We are opened daily 11.30 - 15.00 (only for lunches) and 18.00 - ..... Come and enjoy our art exhibitions, food and wines:)
Popped in earlier in the evening for a drink and liked the ambience and the friendly staff, so looked at the menu and decided to go back later for a meal. We were welcomed back and had a delicious meal and excellent service. Would recommend Hei, Phil! Thank you for your kind words :)

We enjoyed the ambience of this old gunpowder cellar. The service was friendly and helpful even though they were pretty busy (even early in the evening). Food was yummy and we had a really enjoyable time. I would beware sitting outside if you don't like mosquitoes - or take repellent! Shame really as outside looked nice and I didn't really want to be inside on such a nice evening; nevertheless, the atmosphere inside is great (I could imagine on a cold day it would be perfect).

Krempel is a cafe. However, not an ordinary one; it's the kind of a place where people meet each other. And once they meet, they become friends. In order to make this happen, we have added a few gimmicks to Krempel; what exactly, is not important right no
They have a great breakfast menu served throughout the day with vegan options available. The coffee is tasty and as big as they come. Pancakes are definitely worth trying! The meals will take some time to arrive though, so if you're looking for a quick meal, this is not the best choice.

A cosy restaurant, where chefs find inspiration from the local flora and fauna that offer unforgettable flavours during any season. The products of local masters, as well as the best from the rest of the world are held in high esteem. The wonderful combin
Had the fried Herring and then the Pike/Perch and both were beautifully presented and very tasty. Accompanied by home made rye bread and hospitable and attentive service I would thoroughly recommend this excellent restaurant, if you in Tartu definitely put this on your list for places to visit for food

Joyce is one of the most creative restaurants in Estonia. There is no doubt about it. It combines the two essential components in the world of enjoyment. First of these is choice. Choice between good and better. Choice between exquisite and exceptional. C
One night stay in Tartu and where to eat? A quandary but look no further than this excellent restaurant which offers superb food, service and atmosphere at very reasonable prices. The waitress served us speaking knowledgeably about the dishes and in a manner behoven to a Michelin rated restaurant. The food that followed was beautifully presented and tasted superb.
