The food was not that bad. But the overall experience was so 1990s with dozens mostly fried meals on the menu. If they shift to more locally-inspired cuisine products it might be better.

We had three meals there and all of them were great. The place is nice with amazing view, children playground, sitting inside or outside under the roof. The only strange thing - the owners or practitioners were sitting in the restaurant instead of the office with pcs and papers and speaking about their business problems. Well, you do not want to listen it,you wish to enjoy your meal.

We were there based on the good reviews but the food was disappointing. Ordered the steak which was not cooked as ordered (medium), it was English - still definitely raw inside. The steak was thick but not big and not cooked properly, disappointing. They took it back and gave me a replacement which was then thinner but cooked too long and hard. This came with probably 6 croquette and a decorative portion of salad. Had better for that money. My husband had the daily special which was Gulasch. There was so much fatty meat and not very flavorful at all.We can't recommend to go there. The prices are the same at Barthel and it looks nicer there.

Thev restaurant is in a lovely place with all the views plus it is sheltered so no trouble with weather. The food itself is marvelous and no hesitations :) The service could be a little faster and in my point the wine is too expensive. But very good anyway.Thank you very much for your review.Hope to see you soon!Best regards,Kerstin Meve-Garreis

We spent three nights in the hotel and had three dinners here, since it is the best option in the area. Excellent food, kind of modern czech cuisine, very well executed. Good choice of venison as well. The portions are quite big, maybe even too much.Very tasty local beer. The service was very nice.

We went there for one night, when we were hiking the "Malerweg" in the "Saxonian Swiss". The rooms are simple and old fashioned but clean. The food was good and plenty. The staff is sometimes a little bit "missing" but we had time. Because of the weather it was not crowded and everything was very relaxed. We had Bohemian goulash and schnitzel, some german beer and wine and after all we paid including tax etc. not more than 140 Euros for 2 beds incl. rich breakfast, 2 times dinner and so on. We will definitively come back the next time.

The best restaurant experience in Bad Schandau. The Kalbsmedallions are superb, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was excellent and despite a bit of a language-barrier, the server was extremely attentive and made sure everything was right. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a quirky and comfortable restaurant on the bank of the river just outside Krippen. We arrived at spargel zeit, asparagus time! We were treated to delicious plates of food, I enjoyed the salmon. The staff were not phased by my gluten free requirements. We finished the meal with caramelised asparagus, surprisingly good!A popular restaurant, so arrive early or book!

The food has been not bad, but we have seen far better one in Czech Republic. For example the garlic soup didn't include much garlic and cheese, also it wasn't served with bread or something else, like always it's the case. The main dishes were too spicy - the first had to much pepper, the second far to much chilli. The cheese dishes were okay, nothing to complain about, also the crocettes were good. Also we had to wait very long for our meals, not to mention the unfriendly, rude staff. After waiting about 30 minutes for a dessert they weren't able to let us know that it would have taken an other 30 minutes to prepare the pancakes. What a shame! Also I found it strange and not nice to put all German guests in one room where german radio was playing. Never experienced this ever before! So if you like to feel like in Germany and not like in the Czech Republic, and you don't mind to spend the most of the time waiting, this is probably the right place for you. But this is for sure not real, authentic and exellent czech cuisine!

My wife and I had dinner there. I had the Bohemian Schweize mushroom (pfefferlinge) with cream with knödel (dumpling). Mine was very tasty and filling. She had the trout with butter and lemon which she said was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive as they could be, as it was busy. Happily recommend. Only criticism is that she thought that the side salad dressing was a bit of a let down. I thought it was fine.
