Mamamia da Max ist nicht nur in Deggendorf ein Geheimtipp! Lecker, lustig und typisch italienisch ist Mamamia da Max immer einen "Isse Lecca" voraus.
A lovely Italian restaurant situated about 5-6 minutes walk from the main square. Decent menu, friendly service and a reasonable wine list. We have starters and mains and both were good quality. Prices were about on par with other similar restaurants we looked at during our visit. After a long trip MamaMia hit the spot!Thankyou

We've stayed in Burghausen several times over the years, but nowhere else have I seen a bar as interesting, imaginative, artsy, eclectic and wonderfully quirky as Knoxoleum. It clear that it's owners are driven by a passion to be different, and a surprise awaits around every corner while creative, modern art adorns every wall. A multi-story affair situated in a 15th century building adjacent to Europe's longest castle, here you'll find tables built into nooks, anterooms, and corners, down and up stairs, and no two chairs seem the same. Many of the chairs, tables, and booths are one of a kind pieces of art. Tables have large clocks built into table tops, mannequin parts line a shelf, booth backs have imaginative faces carved into the wall behind you - as if joining your conversation. Colored glass filters light into many different shades and cobalt-blue bottles serve as lampshades. Floors are open in interesting and unique ways so people-watching becomes a part of the experience. Each table is unique in it's own way - one even features live, growing grass! This bar is truly the work of an artist who never seems to be satisfied. We only had drinks on the evenings we were there, but they do offer a menu of food choices as well. We met and had lively conversation with staff and locals each night we went - embarassing us with their English skills (which were far better than our poor German). In addition to the lively upstairs bar, a walk down the twisting staircase to the lower chamber (once a storage room for the castle) reveals a barrel-ceilinged live performance venue which reminded me of the infamous "Cavern Club" in Hamburg. We watched a local band there one evening and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Admission to the lower club requires a cover, but the music is played throughout the venue for all to enjoy. In short, this eclectic, one-of-a-kind venue is one of the most unique bars I've ever visited. Make sure you stop sometime, you won't regret it.

Yes. Precisesly the place to be and go if you do not want to keep on eating schnitzels and pommes menu. I believe that public transport is a bit complicated. Location is great. Nice surroundings.Bit expensive for my standarts but I guess one time in a year won't hurt.

I was on business trip in Burghausen, and after 2 days of so-so eating I wanted a "revenge"!So with help of my navigator in car and tripadvisor I found this lovely place...It is located in a monastery (Kloster in German) and the restaurant was open and full of people. Nevertheless they found me immediately a table, and served me a typical and very tasty lunch. Soup was OUTSTANDING, and the schnitzel after also. When i will return in that area surely I will make a detour to go back there.Very suggested

A wonderful find in a fairly sleepy area. The European Tour has come to town for a golf tournament, but so many places seem to close by 9pm. The Badhaus stays open until 2 or 3am, depending on the day.Not that the hours are what appeals. The range or food and beers, the warmth and comfort, and the welcome offered by the staff are all huge plus points, but I mention the hours, because after a day at work, it was nice to know you could find somewhere open.

Lovely renovated historic building. Staff friendly and helpful - our waitress anett spoke English as well as her native German. We started our side in the covered patio area , but soon came inside when a thunderstorm arrived.Food was delicious - I had salmon with pasta and my friends had the ladies special - Turkey and Mediterranean vegetables. Very nice and flavoursome and large portions. Would recommend .

Outstanding selection of libations considering Bad Griesbach is in the middle of nowhere Bavaria. Service was excellent and friendly

I really wanted to love this place - an unassuming and simple looking restaurant in the middle of nowhere with a Michelin star.. but did not live up to expectations. I could not fault the presentation of each of the courses but the biggest failure was in the construction of each plate. There was usually a lot of things happening on each plate - flavored foams, homemade ice creams, three different sauces and although the cooking techniques displayed were top notch, the flavors did not always match. It was also apparent that there was no trained sommelier as the wines did not match perfectly either and did nothing for the each of the courses. Another, in my opinion large failure was the service - although the waiter was very pleasant and polite, handing me my cutlery because he wouldn't walk around the table is a very big no-no. Not changing the wine glasses when changing to different wine is also a very big no-no. We took the complete 10 course degustation with matching wines for 128euros - I can only count two courses which I thought of high enough standard to deserve it's reputation. In short, there are many other non-starred restaurants which are far superior to huberwirt and better value for money. Not recommended.

This was our second visit to this restaurant at the historic town square in Deggendorf. In summer there is a large terrace at the town square and on a Saturday the farmer's market was just opposite complete with a cultural performance. Service is polite, fast and professional. We had the Duett of Donauwaller & Salmon and the Gnocchi with Mushrooms and parmesan. The portions were generous and the food was very tasty. Highly recommended restaurant in Deggendorf for all occasions.

We stopped for lunch after driving to find a good view of the Königsee lake.We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. The menu is traditional and there are daily specials. Service very friendly and attentive. My beef Goulash was below average unfortunately and the bread served with it was stale. Perhaps we were unlucky as today, 1st of May, is a public holiday and the place was busy. One person in our group skipped the soup and had Caesar salad with chicken which was ok.The Weisbeer is very good.
