We've gone a few times - so this review will summarize it. The food is a hot and miss - sometimes OK, sometimes not so OK. same goes for the service. If you are simply going to meet up with friends and relax either outside or inside with a few drinks it is a really good place to go. Although you can go with children, especially in the summer to sit outside, I would prob say that the restaurant is better suited for adults.

So we went here for a family dinner - claims to be better cuisine. A lot of the dishes are veggie and can be upgraded with meat/fish/...We had couscous, pasta, soup - all pretty good but not exceptional. The service is pretty fast and good, pays attention. Nice place to go to - weâll come back.

This is a very nice restaurant and it seems to be a pretty popular one. On a Saturday night it was full and quite a few people who didn't have reservations were turned away. We opted to sit outside despite looming rainclouds and the very pleasant waitresses found us a table indoors when the weather became a bit more threatening. We had excellent antipasti to start with followed by very good pasta from a wide selection; there are also fish and meat main courses. The interior is very jolly, with tables in a series of interconnecting rooms. And all very reasonably priced.

There were no English translations on our menu, but a guest at a nearby table offered to help us. We had been eating fish every night, so decided to have meat. We both had Holsteiner Schnitzel - which was not Schnitzel à la Holstein. It was a tough pork steak with many mussels, carrot slices, corn, pieces of asparagus, green beans, all in a yellow sauce. We should have had another excellent dinner at our hotel, the Alter Kreisbahnhof.

I'm very fortunate to enjoy many great restaurants near my house in Naples, FL. On a resent trip to Germany I was lucky enough to find the Happy Rancho restaurant in Schleswig. The food and atmosphere was excellent. It meet and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, the weather was never warm enough to eat in the pleasant garden. But the upstairs area is also very nice and cosy for dinner. The food is excellent and the prices not too high givern the quality of the food. Certainly the best place to eat besides the restaurant of Hotel Waldschlösschen. The latter also offers very good food, but is located in the outskirts.
