We recently visited Ruhpolding for a family holiday. We were made so very welcome at Ruhpolding Hof. Lovely people, tasty food (very German) and reasonably priced. My children aged 8 and 6 loved the welcome and the table football table downstairs. Thanks very much

For our road trip from Salzburg Austria to Dortmund Germany, we decided to stay here for the night. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Fischerwirt guest house, the view of the mountains from our triple room balcony was amazing. For the price, it is excellent value. Stunning scenery and a real gem off the beaten track. Later, we dined downstairs and enjoyed our meals immensely. The beer was cold and fresh, hit the spot. I just wish we could spend one more night here!

Arranged two evening meals here by our hotel. Both evenings were great fun, lots of singing, dancing and raising of glasses. The food was of good quality, lovely steak, the vegetarian option was cheesy pasta (macaroni cheese), only slight negative was no dessert, a little strudel wouldn't go amiss. I guess we'd been spoilt with our hotel meals being 4 courses. All in all a great night out for the whole family, the entertainment was fun to watch and even more fun to dance the night away with.

On a rainy day, our friends recommended a restaurant- Butzn Wirt. It is located a few miles from Ruhpolding, in the "Bavarian Alps"! The drive was beautiful and a very winding narrow road up the mountain! The site was just fantastic, it is indeed a restaurant with a view! We had to have our meals served indoors, as the rain/showers on and off.We had the 'Liver dumpling soup" and the "Spargel" soup, and for the main course- the "Wienersnitzel" and Roast pork with potato and salads. We had the house wine and beer. It was simply delicious and so tasty! Coffee and dessert was also delicious. The service was excellent, the wait staff was very welcoming and efficient. All around this restaurant is a little meadow with brown cows, the cow bells can be heard. The walks near the restaurant was just breathtaking. Highly recommended.

We ate here most evenings as part of a two-week holiday with Thomson. As half-board guests, each day we got starter/soup, buffet salad, a choice of 3 main courses, and dessert. Everything we had was delicious, and service in the cosy restaurant was friendly and efficient. The choices were usually between a traditional Bavarian dish, a less Bavarian alternative, and a vegetarian option. There were also Italian and Bavarian buffet nights which were excellent. Our 13-year old reasonably fussy eaters loved all the food too - mostly the Bavarian choices. On one night each when they didn't like what was on offer, they could default to the children's menu with no fuss and had plenty of choice. Our one frustration was the common local practice of charging for tap water - â¬5 per litre in this case, which might be a shock to UK and Irish visitors.

We had visited in one evening this restaurant and all food was delicious! We tried the traditional wurst and potatoes soup, different steaks meals and for the desserts we tried the apple in beer dough , simple food and very good.

The Hotel "Zur Post" is a very traditional house, new renovated with a fresh bavarian menu style. The Bar/Lounge "vis à vis" is very popular! Cool Drinks, great bavarian beer and a good atmosphere is here! The rooms and suits are renovated, too. The style
Situated in the Centre of Rupholding. There is what appeared to be a very good German Menu.Food was tasty and the service goodPrice wise it was reasonable. We sat outside and enjoyed the experience. If only there had been an English description of the range of food, this might have been exceptional.

Meal with family on Saturday night. Food average, ordered a second Hells beer which never arrived. Was charged â¬4,50 for 500ml of bottled water ! When i asked waiter if this was correct or even a fair price he just shrugged. Several places near which are ten times better.

We were genuinely impressed with this eatery. Being attached to a swimming pool, I wasn't expecting too much, but the service and the appearance of the food as well as the quality of the food was excellent. The other meals that other diners had also looked very good. We hand an excellent kinder schnitzel for our son, which all looked very fresh, and a soup and a salad. The soup was very well presented with a drizzle of oil and cress and carrot shards. The goats cheese salad was excellent with lots of fresh leaves, onion, carrots, tomato, chilli etc. I wouldn't have chosen to go to a restaurant next to a swimming pool, but I would definitely go there again.

We are a small family-run restaurant with attached hotel. Our cuisine serves fresh dishes with a French accent. All rooms are bright and comfortable. They have balcony with mountain view as well as new bathrooms with rain shower, raised toilet, hairdryer,
a contemporary interior that is well done; very tasty food, well presented, with very helpful staff (the French speaking chef from Alsae came to speak to us when he found out we spoke French), and reasonably priced especially given the high quality of the food. For example, on the chef's recommendation I tried his quiche appetizer, even though I'm usually not too crazy about it - his was excellent. Have no reservations about recommending this place
