In anticipation of leaving to return home the next morning, I wanted one last traditional German meal in a beautiful setting. This restaurant fulfilled my desires. My schnitzel with roasted potatoes and a glass of Riesling was wonderful. The building is a mere 400 years old. The interior has been updated but still maintains its traditional German style. The owners prepared and served a delicious meal. They speak perfect English and I enjoyed hearing about their life in Oestrich-Winkel. I will definitely return on my next trip.

We took a very good conducted tour of this lovely house - led by Baroness von Bretano. It has an incredible history as the summer house of the Bretano family who were patrons of the Romantic poets . It has a strong association with Goethe who was a regular visitor and close friend of Bettine von Arnim ( a Bretano daugher ). Very evocative and interesting.

Parsley with itâs unique, pungent flavour is one of the most popular poterbs / culinary herbs. Being not only tasty it also contains many ingredients such as vitamins and important minerals which do have a very positive impact on your wellbeing. Since the
The restaurants offers a wide range of options from German-ish pasta, exotic-ish dishes to vegan bites. The couscous salad with chicken was fresh and with good flavour. The coffee was more than decent too.Service was friendly, and the bill for two including sparkling water came to 35 EUR.A safe choice to enjoy lunch.

Very impressive location, packed with guests. An amazing wine list, specializing in regional wines; very carefully selected and very reasonably prices. Respect about that!Extremely professional and friendly service team. The food however ranges from "amazing" to "it's OK", depending on the course you're eating. This inconsistency is not unexpected on this level of dining. Maybe we caught them off guard on a bad day. I hope so for them and I wish them to get the food organized in a flawless manner for future customers. I have no doubts they are able to perform on this level.

This is small castle-hotel with a romantic atmosphere. Parking is possible in front of the hotel. Bedroom is cosy, bathroom clean and charming. But the breakfast was a big disappointment.During our stay in Germany we booked six different castle-hotels. This was certainly not the cheapest, but compaired with the others it was not what I expected. Conclusion: good hotel, but not a topper. For the same money you can find nicer places to stay.

We were aiming for the 'Adler Wirtschaft'; but it was closed. Zum Krug is exactly what you expect of a traditional village hotel/restaurant: all heavy, dark oak furniture and panelling. The food likewise: not bad; but somewhat over-salted, and with an excess of rich saucing. My colleague's Wiener Schnitzel she described as 'average'.The wine list was almost exclusively Rhein riesling, with small later sections labelled 'non-Riesling' and even - horribile dictu - red wines. The price was Euros 55 for the two of us - quite reasonable, for such a touristy village.Overall: adequate; not memorable.

During the winter months the restaurant is closed. From 3 April to 25 October 2020 you can enjoy regional dishes with a Mediterranean touch in the garden and manor house. The season dictates regular culinary changes. The Gutsausschank is a member of Slowf
Ate here last night. We had pork fillet, roast beef salad, panacotta in raspberry sauce with ice cream, a bottle of wine, coffees and grappa. All excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant. One suggestion any chance of having at least one copy of the menu in English - my schoolboy German wasn't up to it!

This winery and restaurant offers delicious food and wines in a really nice setting, especially outside. Whether it was the wines soup with croutons, the fish on risotto (both perfectly cooked and seasoned) or the dessert...everything was great in quality and taste. All the wines tried were refreshing and light, optimal for the high summer temperatures. Service was attentive.

For chefs Alexander Ehrgott and Martin Beicht, a careful selection of local and seasonal high-quality produce is the basis for a successful menu. If such a selection is combined with international and modern ingredients of premium quality, the result is a
We have come here without reservation on a nice Saturday for lunch. We were lucky and got a table as the food was amazing, they had also a kids menu with very good chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc. However the main attraction is the food for adults of course. If it was not for the slow service (we arrived and ordered first but only received the food after 40 minutes when other tables had already been served. They claimed that one of our dishes was taking longer to prepare, but they could have informed us proactively.), they could be considered Michelin star quality with ole ty of tasty vegetarian options that my wife loved. I had the venison and it was not only tender but really tasteful. Given also the nice setting and the option for the kids to run around in the garden, this is a clear recommendation inthe Rheingau.Dear Peter, thank you very much for your kind valuation. We are pleased that you enjoy the stay in our Restaurant and our food. Sorry for the slow service and the inconveniences. We are working on the improvement in this field.Hope to see you again!Kind regards

Kleines Restaurant mit guter Küche. Auch Catering
A small restaurant in Oestrich-Winkel that serves Italian cuisine. Everything was made from fresh. Great meals, great atmosphere and great values. The patio sitting provides intimate surrounding with large trees, candles, but most of all, the tables aren't so closed to each other so no eavesdropping of the neighbor's conversation. If I had to critic, the only think I could think of is the lack of parking space. We had to park 2 blocks away from this tiny restaurant. But all in all it was best!
