Discover Restaurants offering the best Central European food in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. With half a million people, Nuremberg is Bavaria's second largest city. While its history dates to the 11th century, Nuremberg is most often linked to the 20th century (specifically World War II). It first served as the site of many pre-war Nazi rallies, then was nearly leveled by Allied bombing, then was the site of the famous post-war Nuremberg Trials. The city has much to offer today's visitors, including the rebuilt Nuremberg Castle and the world-famous gingerbread at Hauptmarkt. Hansel and Gretel would have loved this place.

The Restaurant Wuerzhaus features an intimate indoor dining as well as an idyllic outdoor terrace. Guests can enjoy traditional German and contemporary meals prepared by chef Diana Burkel and her team.
We enjoyed an excellent meal - the 5-course menu - with accompanying wines. The range of dishes is interesting (in the positive sense!) and included parsley root soup, tench and a surprisingly tasty trio of root vegetables. All dishes were attractively presented and service was good. This was by far the best dining experience we had whilst in Nuremburg. I would not hesitate to go back.

This restaurant is outstanding. Ten of us ate on the main floor on a Saturday night. Reservations are a must. The service was outstanding for such a large table. The atmosphere was classic. The appetizers and pork shoulder were outstanding. The desserts were very good. This is definitely a âwill returnâ restaurant.

Iâd been consciously avoiding overtly German Food whilst in Germany but this place was a perfect venue to change that. A short menu contains all the classic dishes and local beer is served (as well as some superb locals wines); all at a very reasonable price. Service is direct in that wonderfully German way and fools are not suffered gladly but English is tolerated and add in the quirky brown wood/exposed beams/tankards decor, you have a classic German dining experience. Go, you will not regret it.

Local inn , 10 minutes walk (or tram stop: SchweiggerstraÃe) south of the old town of Nuremberg with Frankish coziness and regional cuisine and beverages . The house specialty is the Franconian Schäufele ( roast pork on bones with potato dumpling and grav
We had dinner reservations, because as tourists we discovered that the highly rated restaurants can be full. My friend wanted hearty German food, where the locals eat and this was the place. Three of us ordered the half order of pork shoulder and it was plenty of food. They were kind enough to substitute fried potatoes for the potato dumplings. The other friend had a large plate of schnitzel with potato salad. The walnut ice cream was a perfect dessert, and again they let my husband substitute the raspberry topping for the egg nog. Very reasonable and take credit cards.

The Restauration Kopernikus is an restaurant and an beer garden, which is located on the old castle walls in downtown of Nuremberg. You can eat excellent Polish and Franconian dishes as homemade pork shoulder, Franconian roast pork, beef roulade and Schni
I'm surprised by the good reviews for this place as we were very disappointed. Yes, the location is nice but the staff were disinterested, all standing around while people (like us) were searching through all the reserved tables to try and find a place. We eventually collared a waitress and she helped. Our salads were wilted, dry and brown around the edges, I'm not sure how long they had been sitting in the kitchen... the chicken was OK but the spring rolls were soggy inside. The beer wasn't great and another couple who shared our table also found fault with their food. There are other, better places to eat.

This was our second visit. The food was very tasty once again and the location is very attractive - in the old town. The waitress we had was very nice and friendly. The food was very tasty and good quality - I would go back.Dear retro46, thank you very much for your visit again and the nice tripadvisor.com review. We really appreciate it when our guests take the time to give us feedback about their stay at our hotel. We are pleased that you enjoyed the food and noticed our employees great service ethics. Betriebsurlaub vom 28.07.2019 bis einschlieÃlich 20.08.2019 Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Besuch in Nürnberg
So letâs just say that if you have any hope of eating here..... make a reservation. Itâs a hassle I know. But so worth it. We tried to walk in one night and were turned away. We made a reservation as soon as we got home and scored a table within the week. Aside from the historical Albrecht-Dürer business, (an added bonus) this really is a fine restaurant. It is small, busy, and has excellent service and food. So you must make a reservation. My husband had the schäufele. I had the deer ragu. Both were superb, and served with excellent blaukraut. The stewed plums with cinnamon schnapps was so good as well. We were sat and served crazy fast. Please take the time to make your reservation and enjoy this wonderful gasthaus!

A little bit hidden away, but definitely worth to find. I had a very generously sized Gulasch dish with just a hint of horseraddish, which was so good, that I was tempted to order a second serving. The barkeeper recommended white wine, which was the perfect pairing to my food. The stuff is cordial and helpfull and one feels at home right away and I can only praise and highly recommend the Gregor Samsa. It has a lot of great vibes to it and is definitely not one of those tourist traps, but a place where you like to eat and hang out.
