My parents, my boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel as part of a bike ride. The accommodations are simple and clean and above the restaurant. The food served at the restaurant was excellent and a good selection of dishes. everything is made fresh. The host was wonderful, very hospitable and funny. He translated the menu in English for us which was very kind. Everyone was pleased with their meal and their wine was also great! All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served upstairs and the woman host was delightful. She was very excited that we spoke Spanish. I will definitely return to the hotel and restaurant, if we return someday.

Enjoyed a 4 course set menu, very reasonably priced (Euro 42). It was a beautiful evening, so we could sit in the terasse outside, enjoying the view of the garden. The food was excellent, very well prepared, and the service friendly. Certainly a place to recommend.

Situated in a quiet location close to a small village.Decoration and ambiance are "classical/vintage".Welcome and staff are perfect. They take real care of their clients without being invasive. Trust the sommelier who introduces you to unknown treasures of German wine producers.Delicious food and surprising wine list are perfect. The signature dish I like best is kind of "tarte" as appetizer "Torte von rohem Rindstartar auf Rösti mit Sauerrahm und Kaviar" (potatoe-rösti with minced raw beef & sourcream topped with caviar). Soooo good and you won't forget the taste of this delicious dish...Price&quality ratio is okay. The restaurant belongs to the Waldhotel Sonnora... a good idea would be to book a room and stay for the delicious breakfast!

Itâs hard to believe that there are only 6 other reviews for this place. Perhaps there just arenât many people visiting the Mosel. I say go! And stay at Hubertushof B&B in Lieser!Marcus has now grown from camera-shy tiny village chef, to TV chef (so I hear). Whatever, the food is still great and the presentation is wonderful. I also ate brunch on my last visit and the country, pan-fried waffles were outstanding. Marcus also makes Pork Tartar. Yes, pork. Iâve had it twice in Germany and love it! The menu always changes, so just look at some pictures of the crazy food! Iâll agree that the service isnât brilliant, but I do think that it is getting better. I donât care; this is a great experience and one of my favorite places in the world. And when I say the bar scene is pretty good, I mean that there are 6 seats and good conversation, not hip-hop garbage.

Food was not tasty. The sauce was tasteless and could have come from a packet out of the supermarket. The meat was of poor quality. Chips were over-salted. The only good thing was the beautifull oversight of the Mosel river down in the valley. Probably worth visiting for a drink on the terrace outside, but if you're looking for good food you should look further.

This restaurant is excellent! We went with a group of 11 and it was no problem. The atmosphere is great. Wonderful decorations and clearly the owners are avid orchid growers. The food is excellent! Try the Vulkan with blood sausage! Or any other more common dish. You won't be disappointed. The cook made up a nice vegetarian meal that was not on the menu. It is located right near the roman boat so easy to find but not on the main road thru town.

This is a great spot in Trittenheim, easy walking distance from most of the accommodations in town. We had the wiener schnitzel with salad and chips. It was the best schnitzel we had in Germany. Reasonable prices too (around â¬12).

Nicely situated with a view of the Mosel river and the vineyards on the other bank. Decent restaurant with quite an extensive menu. The rumpsteak is very tender and tases deliciously! Especially in the summer this restaurant is a good destination thanks to its terrace.

Just picked this place by chance after strolling around the village. We are definitely glad that we did. The meal was great value and enjoyable and while sitting at the bar afterwards for a couple of extra drinks, we were engaged in conversations with friendly locals and staff, despite being non-German speakers. Very welcoming place.

restaurant étoilé dans le guide Michelin
Thomas Schanz has held two stars in his family run restaurant since the end of 2015. The two stars are well deserved, and food is top notch. Were it only for the food, I'd give five stars. The tourelle de foie gras, the Atlantic hake, the red label pigeon breast, the lamb from Wales, all were full of flavours and the ingredients of excellent quality. My daughter had an a la carte starter of frog legs which she also liked a lot. My wife and I ordered a cheese course instead of the menu dessert - this was good but not outstanding, and I have had better brie de meaux, crottin and livarot before.Service and the choice of menu and/or a la carte dishes was not flawless. The restaurant called me 4 days before the lunch date and asked whether we (a party of 6) would opt for a la carte or the menu. I called the restaurant the night before the lunch and indicated that we would select a la carte. I was put through to Mr. Schanz personally who indicated that we would have to choose from within the menu, except for our daughter who could choose a la carte. We did not quite grasp why this limitation was imposed, as we would have liked to sample the langoustine starter and turbot main course, both of which were not on the menu; perhaps it was because of Easter Monday, Monday being a day on which the restaurant is normally closed. Service itself was very friendly, but one waiter oddly failed to fill up the water and wine glasses of my wife and my mother, and failed to do so throughout the lunch. My wife found this very odd and in the end almost offensive. The red wine we ordered from the same waiter for the cheese course basically was served after the cheese course, after we reminded another waiter. When my daughter asked the waiter whether ice cream was available fore dessert, he simply said 'yes' and disappeared. The ice cream was later ordered from another waitress. The wine list is strong on German wines, and we had two excellent and fairly priced bottles from the Mosel region...
