This place is a little hard to find as itâs inside an apartment building but itâs worth the search. The back terrace overlooks the Marburg movie theater and youâre about 10 stories up so you get great views of the valley. The food was good and you canât beat the views.

Only a few minutes northeast of Marburg, in the idyllic Dagobertshausen, lies our restaurant Waldschlosschen. Enjoy the free view into the landscape, while you are inspired by a creative kitchen. With regional and seasonal products, some of which come fro
Came here with family. BBQ ribs came cold to the table and toothpicks are required to remedy its dryness too. The BBQ sausage of my mom was burned and the fish of my kids had no taste what so ever. This restaurant is highly overrated. Service came 3 times to our table with someone else's order. A big drop since my last years visit. Just a sad place. Very beautiful location though with nice garden and kids playground. Thanks for your review and sorry for the delay in replying your review. Since last year we reconsidered our concept and improved a lot - from kitchen to staff and service. We hope we will see you again in the future, to convince you of the opposite. Sincerly, your Waldschlösschen team

Walking in Wetzlar is not so easy..The stairs may be steep, the stones old..Unknown early in the evening tired looking for a place to eat. The Ratsschänke looked good, and yes, we were not too early (about 5.30 pm). Looking on the menu - various very nice meals, very reasonable priced and specialties. Excellent house wine for a modest price. And the food was prepared..just delicious! Not once, but we went back another two times in the week - and always excellent service, excellent food - very nice place, not too big, cosy. Just go!

Die Pause is truly one of my favourite corners in Marburg. It is cozy, warm, and welcoming, but I wouldn't call it homely. Rather than that, it always gives me the feeling of a celebration. Portions are rather small, but every bite is a huge delight. All ingredients are noticeably fresh and bio, and most come from the surrounding region of Hesse. My favourite dish is warm goat cheese on a bed of caramelised apples and pears. Heavenly!

If you want to try Auflauf (the dish that Marburg/the surrounding area is particularly known for), this is a great place to do it. The Auflauf is a bit heavy, so keep that in mind. There are also other food options. The inside is really cozy, with big windows and good lighting. It's good for small and large groups, and is quite inexpensive. The beer is also great. Can't recommend this place enough!

The menu is eclectic, the choices are interesting, and the preparation are always good and well executed. The wine choices are extensive and the prices are fair, with focus on German wines. If you are looking for something different, this is the place. Service and ambience is good.

I visited Zur Sonne with my colleagues and the food was good. I had the pork loin and it was tender and tasty. The only complaint I have is that the food took some time to come out and we asked for more water 4 times. I'm not sure if they're not used to handling large groups. Other than the wait, the food was enjoyable.

Every time we are in Marburg we return there. Fantastic traditional German recipes with fair prices and nice wine list. Really cozy atmosphere that makes you to stay and enjoy your dinner or lunch. Last visit included lots of snow which made our visit unforgetable!

With spectacular views, picturesque below the Landgrave Castle and high above the historic university town lies the lovingly restored Bückingsgarten - the traditional restaurant in Marburg. The restaurant with its beer garden looks back on a long history.
It was a lovely evening so after a walk up to the castle, this was an easy choice. The menu was quite limited but the food was excellent. My Hereford steak and chips with Caesar salad was divine. The desserts menu was even more limited (2 choices) but the ice cream with red berries was very good. The service could have been quicker but I was in no particular hurry. Worth a visit if youâre up by the castle.

We loved to find that deliciously creative restaurant in the cute city of Marbug. After a long walk (the restaurant is at one end of the city) we arrived in an oasis of calm and charm : white tablecoths, bouquets of white, pink and yellow lilies, silverware, incredibly reasonable prices, an English-speaking owner who unobtrusively came several times to our table to give us the necessary information and finally an extremely fine cuisine that even served as starters a few portions of their specialties. We asked for wine by the glass and they generously had us taste the various wines by the glass on offer. The only advice I would give the cook : do not put too many things on the dessert plate, simplify :-))
