We descended on the Ristorante Tricolore early one Sunday evening having parked in the large car park on the market square (free on Sunday evening). Nobody greeted us as we entered so we just grabbed the most attractive looking table for 5. The young man who came to serve us was friendly, seemingly nervous & made a bit of a mess of understanding our drinks order. Was this down to his difficulties with the German language? We also had a little struggle to get our meal order understood. Having repeatedly explained a special request unfortunately he screwed it up and brought the wrong pasta for two of us when it came to the main meal. At least the threatened 20 minute delay in correcting the error was much shorter so that we could more or less all eat together at the same time. The meal itself started with a nice array of a free antipasti and a basket of bread with garlic butter/cream. The two types of bruschetta we shared as a starter were a bit of a disappointment and came with a funny, "old" taste. We think that it came from the cheese. For the main course I had the special tortellini with asparagus. This was rather bland and the "special" sauce certainly needed pepping up in my opinion. Throughout the meal we were topped up with drinks - the ladies managed to get through one litre of refreshing Lambrusco. I stayed with "Radler" - shandy. The toilets are accessed down a very steep and narrow spiralling staircase - how an older, infirm person would make it down them is beyond me. Certainly not for disabled guests. All in all, whilst the service was friendly and the two young waiters were polite, we can't say that this evening meal was a runaway success.

I travelled extensively in Yugoslavia before "the troubles" and loved the people, the country and the food. My wife ate many years ago when she lived in Dusseldorf and said the food was really good. They used to call it the dustbin lid because portion sizes were very large. We went for dinner and I am pleased to report my expectations were exceeded. The menu was groaning with Balkan delicacies. After delicious starters my wife had the grilled liver which was immense and I tried the plescavica (excuse the spelling) which was superb and I was pleased to find that ajvar was availbale. We sat outside and the place was crowded. Service was immaculate and the atmosphere superb. We finished with a couple of good slivovices (again excuse spelling) and the bill was most reasonable. We have a few must go to restaurants in this part of Germany and place is most definitely on the list.

Situated in âBayer cityâ (the huge area of Bayer, the pharmaceutical company), the restaurant is also open for non Bayer employees. Really nice service, affordable prices, decent food and, if you only have little time and you let them know, they advice on which dishes to take and which not to take. Bread gets served upfront with nice cheese and olive oil...really really nice experience.

I brought some Ukrainien friends here recently ahead of the Champions league game in the BayArena. Our waitress coped admirably with the mix of Ukrainien, English and German languages. The extra challenge was the 15 month old child who was the centre of all the attention. Two of us ordered the Berlin styled liver and onions# which was good. The sausage salad was too much for such a000 discerning colleague had his difficulty finishing the breaded chicken nuggets.

My wife's family is from Croatia so I was happy to find that this was the restaurant attached to my hotel. It was almost as good as the home cooked food we have had when we visited her family. Nothing is good as lovingly, expertly homecooked food so this is as high a praise as I can give a restaurant/

We made a table reservation but when arriving â of the tables were empty, no tourists but locals. The furnishing is rustic. Menu list offers extensive meals. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered "Schweinshaxe" and "Sauerbraten". Result: substantial. The taste of the "Schweinshaxe" was strange, the "Sauerbraten" was average with much to much gravy. So all in one: food was everage, no special quality; reasonable prices.

If you don't mind the interior, which makes an impression of unchanged since the 80s, Zagreb is a good place to try some grilled/fried meat and fish dishes. A variety of traditional (like ÄevapÄiÄi or pljeskavica) meat is offered, together with rice and/or fries. The dishes were good and the portions quite large. Fair price for all that.

The external and internal decoration of this restaurant induces some curiosity in the good sense as it is nicely decorated (modern style), good illumination, ample space, comfy chairs, ... however, finding a parking place is very tricky... Anyway, food-wise: I expected more... dished are well decorated, the chef is investing time in the image of each dish... very nice, but the most important thing was missing: taste... it was too flat... like hospitals dishes...even the desserts were regular...with fancy decoration... is it the quality of the ingredients? the cooking time? ...

Having consulted TripAdvisor (again) my overseas business guest and I decided to try out the restaurant Zum Claashäuschen one Tuesday evening. Even though I have lived in Leverkusen for many years I have never been here before and I was very favourably impressed. Having parked in the extensive free car park we walked into the main part of the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly young man who installed us at a table close to the window. He brought over the blackboard displaying the âtodayâs specialsâ and took our drinks order. I had a ginger based Prosecco type drink which was suitably refreshing and cool natural mineral water. For starters I went for the antipasta and my guest chose the salmon on potato âreibkuchenâ (fritters or pancakes). Both went down well. For the main course I couldnât resist the veal liver on a bed of mashed potatoes while my guest decided to try the vegetarian quiche. Again, both dishes were nicely presented and delicious. I ordered a quarter litre of house red Rioja wine with the liver which was a perfect accompaniment. We passed on a dessert although we both had an espresso and I took a tiny, mini panna cotta on the side. Finally we were offered a digestif to complete the meal â I took an Obstbrand. Service throughout was quick and efficient. Both young gentlemen who served us made us feel very welcome and I know that Iâll be back again soon.
