Arbiana hotel is an enchanting place, oasis developed to offer the warmest welcome ... the attention to detail and ingenuity of architectural solutions within the warmth of the atmosphere created by the hospitality and jovial professionalism of the host,
The best meal we have had in Croatia, and excellent by any European standard. The Scallops and Goose Liver Panama Cotta were excellent and the Chicken and Fennel and Lamb Ribs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The waiterâs recommendation of a local white wine complemented the dishes very well, and the service was excellent without being overbearing.Well done!

We visited Restaurant Gardens four years ago and chose to visit again as it had been an excellent experience. We both opted for the sea bass fillets; I had mangold as a side dish and my husband had fries. The fish was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, as were the side dishes. The house wine was above average and well priced. The service was great and the location is central in the old town. We would definitely recommend this restaurant above its more popular neighbours but, if you go at peak time, it may be worth reserving a table in advance as it is quite small.

This restaurant was the largest surprise during our vacation in Croatia. We were desperately looking for a restaurant, which serves food between 14:00 and 17:00. Not expecting a lot, we found this jewel. We ordered a huge skewer with meat and veggies. The skewer was nicely seasone with some vinegar and wine, which was and fresh alternative to the well known flavours. The portion is big and the sides are tasty. (Djuvec, Dalmatian Mangold and Potato).Only after having tried different restaurants all over the country, we realized how good the food actually was. Simple but great cuisine!

Wandering around Rab Old Town looking for somewhere to eat we stumbled on Zeko a sidewalk cafe in a lane way behind the main water front promenade. Not somewhere we would usually go, however it had a buzzy atmosphere, a couple of loud and boisterous tables and good cheer emanated from staff and customers. Zeko's big asset is Sevim Halim a bright, cheerful and obliging lady who speaks excellent English together with Croatian, a smattering of German and of course her native Turkish. She assisted us with the selection of wine, the only white available but very good and helped us through the menu. I elected to have the Greek salad; it was fresh and crunchy although the feta a tad salty, but I liked it! I also had the ÄevapÄiÄi, Balkan meatballs which I had last night as well. Not quite up to Bocca Vera's standard in Mali Losinj but a fraction of the price. The butter and garlic pizza bread was excellent and it was accompanied with a garlic and oil dipping sauce which was pronounced yummy by all at the table.Prices were very reasonable, two 1 litre bottles of acceptable white wine and 2 courses for all six of us was Kuna 500 about A$100.Well worth a visit! Only complaint about Croatia so far is that smoking is still allowed in restaurants and with two of our group a bit asthmatic it does spoil things a bit.

If your idea for a good meal is low quality frozen ingredients, including the canned and frozen vegetables, this is your place. If you'd like anything fresh or tasty you'll be hard pressed to find it here. Nice attentive service but bad presentation of foods and below average quality and taste. A big disappointment for us.
