Find out what Central European restaurants to try in Ashgabat. Nestled between the Kopet Dag range and the Kara Kum desert, Ashgabat is a flat, sometimes dusty city twinkling with unique architecture. As a marker of Turkmenistan's official neutrality, the city's most recognizable monument, the Neutrality Arch, rotates during the daylight hours, facing the sun throughout the entire day. The city is home to many mosques and markets, as well as important museums, including one memorializing the 1948 earthquake that decimated the population.

Asgabat is an Eastern Disneyland resort with few inhabitants and vistors but lots of security. Coming from Iran, it provides alcohol and few restaurants but this pub close to Russian market is a surprise with expats, diplomats and few tourists and hidden, tricky to find. It offers tasty beer, acceptable burgers with pommes frites and slow but real service. In Germany it would not be rated better than "sufficient" but under bedeviled circumstances this pub is an oasis and extraordinary.

Hello!!! MAX & Co. company presents to you the new updated Mandarin Restaurant & Chocolate Club. We are always happy to meet our regular guests and meet new guests. We hope that you will actively participate in the life of our club!!!
"Mandarin" is recently opened restaurant/bar in biggest shopping mall "Berkarar" on 4th floor. (June/July 2017). FYI its sharing one place with "Zaman" club. When You enter turn to right or ask Mandarin. Indoor and Outdoor options. (We sat down in terrace). Well furnished. Everything is new. By new I mean crispy new. Owner has a good taste I would say. As name suggests "Mandarin" theme is maintaned in everything. Even WC has pleasant mandarin smell. According to me chandelier resembles another rest.nt "Soltan" chandelier.(See uploaded photo). Might be owner is the same person. Mainly visitors are foreigners. I think its only place where You can feel You are abroad. Food price is expensive. That might be reason lack of locals dining there. Tried spagetti, chicken sauce, couple of salads. Though I was hungry did not find tasty. Later we were told by another visitor they have live music too. Not sure on which days. (That was my first impression. I would try another food items too in future).Waiter girls are friendly, nice. Again my hawky eye, their uniform is some light dark blue shade. On neck orange color scarf which is really matching with whole atmosphere.Wow effect , there is even crate near entrance with real oranges. I believe its part of design too. Oops, "Mandarin" I could not resist not taking one of them. Maybe, You need to start a custom giving oranges to leaving customer hehe.Overall Ambience 5/5Food 3/5Service 5/5Price - 3/5 Not pocket friendly at all. Well, we get what we pay :) Atmosphere 4/5. If they will keep same level for a long time gonna give 5/5.
