The food and service at this quaint restaurant can't be beat. Their specialties are delicious. Don't miss the bbq ribs! They are also known for their chicken cordon blu with jalapeno cream sauce.... certainly a don't miss while in Samara or Carrillo.... just past Carrillo watch on the left for the bright pink pillars. Turn in up the hill to the right.

We ate at Sámara Pacific Lodge in early December. Very friendly, and delicious food. Also pretty reasonably priced for a nice dinner- $37 for two entrees and a glass of wine. It was romantic for couples but was also family friendly. If we had stayed longer than 3 nights in Sámara, we would have returned.

Our family of four (including two teenagers) had a delicious supper here recently - Casado, shrimps and a rice dish. Good portions and reasonably priced. Friendly service. Would recommend for tasty filling traditional fare. Note that it is cash only.

We had a great time watching the SuperBowl at El Sueno Tropical's restaurant/bar. Both of the owners were welcoming, and very interesting to talk to. All of the other guests we met and talked to were interesting travelers representing several different countries, the relaxed mood was very enjoyable. We shared two appetizers and a pizza, all very good, reasonably priced.The full bar really IS a full bar, with a variety of liquor and mixers. We stayed in Playa Carrillo with a friend, so we were not in need of a hotel, but the grounds and pool area that we walked through look very clean and well-groomed. Next time we're in the area we won't hesitate to stop by.

I am kind of a grill lover and never have ever seen anything like this place. Not the only the system is unbelievable but also how it translates the smoked flavor to every plate is absolutely outstanding.I had the grilled garlic for starter and the grilled squid filled with shrimps... still enjoying the madness of flavors and dreaming of tasting another entree ... definitely two thumbs up!!!

This place is one of the best places in Samara. Itâs a little hidden, but make the effort to find it. In six night stay with here twice. First time we had the Paella for two. Delicious! Next time we had plantings , ceviche , fresh red snapper and shrimp dishes. Excellent. Good prices too

Passed this bistro several times heading to my hotel and it always seemed busy, one evening nearing the end of my stay I decided to stop and explore. Was pleasantly surprised on the outcome, nicely presented in all manners, the menu, the wine,the food and the ambiance. It was a really nice experience and the Sauvignon Blanc wine was well selected and reasonably priced. If your in the area I would certainly recommend a visit,even just for a glass of wine and a chat in the ambiance, SuperbThank you very much for your kind review John ! I ordered veggie patties that had so many ingredients and they were tempura fried and with dipping sauce. Also a nice portion of salad. Everything was beautifully prepared and was delicious! Also had a choco banana smoothie. I could not finish the entree as the three patties was more than I could eat. Highly recommended.

Good service in an outside environment . Drinks and food menu mouth watering . Despite suffering from a bad stomach ( not got by eating here ) I still managed to eat some of a delicious pizza ( the 12 portion one definately enough for two people ) and drank a Tequila Sunrise . Well worth a visit and would accommodate a wheelchair as well .

We have eaten all over Costa Rica, and just when I thought a great steak was impossible to find, we came across this place! Open fire cooking at it's best. A great selection of wine, excellent service and an upscale atmosphere, brought us back for a second visit about a week later, and we weren't disappointed. A must visit if you are in the Samara/Carrillo area.
