In order to be fair to this restaurant, the food was good, but the place was absolutely packed, mostly with women! As Hugh Jackman was appearing across the street at the BB&T center and we were not the only people that decided to have dinner there prior to the show as it is literally a five minute drive! It is very hard to park here, every space was taken when we got here at 5 PM on a Saturday night. You can park across the street, albeit it is in a tow-away zone but there really is no option. Our server was very nice but completely rushed off her feet and the noise level in the restaurant made it impossible to have a conversation without shouting. I am sure it is not always this way but it was on this particular night. I had the jerk chicken pasta and a glass of wine and it was very good. Dinner took almost two hours for 6 of us due to the place being packed. I had to get my own water refills more than once as it was just impossible to track our poor waitress down. This restaurant is on the outskirts of Sawgrass mills mall, not inside the mall which makes it a good location for dinner prior to any show at the BBT center. They do take Open Table reservations!

Fast food is served from their steam tables yet everything is uncompromisingly good. The prices you pay for your combo plate is more than reasonable.
Today, is my second visit. I ordered Tostones with Dominican Cheese. My first time here I had the fried Red Snapper, it was wonderful. I had this with rice and beans. Everything was great. The servers do not speak much English but this should not deter you, you can always point to your menu options. They are super nice.If you are looking for authentic Dominican food, you will get it here.I just bit into the Dominican Cheese and Tostones. I love it.

Stopped here on a Sunday and enjoyed the Weekend buffet! What I liked:-Great service from the hostess and the server. Both welcomed me with a big smile, positive attitude and warm hearts...giving you a "like home" feeling! -Overly generous buffet with coffee, tea, breakfast foods (ackee, two types of porridge, boiled provisions, callaloo, dumplings, festival etc) plus lunch foods (oxtail, rice and peas, white rice, curry chicken, stew chicken, escovitch fish, jerk chicken, salad etc). They also had a large selection of desserts (cookies, cakes, pies etc).-The price was very reasonable-Parking outside the restaurant is plentifulWill I return? Absolutely

First time at Don Carlin. Iâll start by saying that our server was excellent. Portions are well sized and prices are reasonable. I had the shredded beef which came with rice, black beans, and fried sweet plantains. Others in our party had the oxtail and that is highly recommended. Finally some had the shredded pork and that was very nice. We certainly would return to this restaurant.

Found this place by accident, but loved it! Everybody was friendly and happy to make suggestions. I had the Jerk Pork plate with rice/gravy, cabbage, and sweet plantains. The pork was actually tender chunks of pork that was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I probably wouldn't have ordered the cabbage, but it was delicious and I'd definite ask for it next time. It's definitely a family restaurant - there were teens hanging around out front, but they were very friendly/respectful, so don't let that turn you off. They had a sound system in the back and were playing some great reggae tunes. They have a variety of canned sodas as well as a selection of beers including Red Stripe... because, well, it's a Jamaican place, mon! It's in the same strip mall as Bru's Room, by the way.

My daughter raved about this place the few times she went with her father. I wanted brown stew chicken and decided to try it out. I was not disappointed at all. I ordered the small. The portion was outstanding, the food was flavorful, and the customer service was great and quick. Plus, I've NEVER been to a drive thru Jamaican restaurant before. So that was awesome that I didn't have to get out of my car. I will be back to try other items
