My wife and I were disappointed to see that the previous mention here of Villa Royale was headed "Destroyed", because we looked forward trying it after reading other reviews and writeups. Well, I'm happy to report that Villa Royale is (finally!) back in business as of October! Seems not to have been rediscovered by American tourists, because on our Sunday night visit, all the other customers were French-speaking. Delightful Creole food, and an excellent value for money. My wife and I shared a tempura shrimp appetizer; the shrimp were perfectly fried, and the batter crust had a bit of a creole spice kick. She had the triggerfish filet, while I had a whole snapper, both perfectly prepared. Each dish came with a choice of side (we both had the creole rice, which was great) and a small salad on the plate. Desserts looked tempting, but we chose not to indulge. The indoor dining room is bright and clean (all new), while the porch provides a more romantic night-time atmosphere (and is quieter for conversation, despite traffic going right by). There were a few service lapses that I'm sure will be fixed as the newer staff gain experience. Other than that, the manager and the owner have things well in hand. All in all, a delightful change of pace from the more upscale restaurants in Grand Case. Do go!Thank you guys for the review. Yes indeed Villa Royale is back and ready to put a smile in your face. We are really please with the outcome since a month and will push as much as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our last night in Saint Martin at Le Taitu. The fish fritters to start were simply prepared with a wonderful Creole dipping sauce and the owner rounded up the portion since two couples were sharing. Two of us enjoyed the Shrimp Persillade with large shrimp flambeed with anise liqueur in a garlic butter sauce. The shrimp in coconut milk and mahi mahi special were both excellent and everything was served with a lovely seasoned rice pilaf and a few vegetables. Wine selection was nice and well priced. I only visited the beach and had drinks, so this review is basically for that. Drinks are average, however the vibe is amazing young and not-so-young crowd mixed in. If DJ is playing the music is great, service is as expected in this type of establishments (a bit slow)... hookas are offered if you are into it. We stopped for lunch while in Marigot. The restaurant is right on the harbor with a wonderful view. There is an English menu. We started with the scallops and asparagus. I ordered the Mixte de la Mer -- grouper, mahi-mahi, shrimp in truffle butter. My husband ordered the Sauteed Assortment of Seafood which was the same type of seafood as my dish, but over tagliatelle. We were very full but still ordered the Lava Cake. All dishes were outstanding. We ordered the house Cabernet, which was very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Visiting Yvette's for lunch is always a great treat and a wonderful experience. The home cooked meals are always plentiful and the flavors are out of this world. We made a reservation for lunch which was good because the restaurant can get quite crowded, particularly with locals. You definitely need to make a reservation if you want to go for dinner.The Caribbean style food is always fantastic. This trip I had the Filleted Snapper, while others had the Chicken Curry, the Ox Tail, and the Chicken St. Maarten style. Each had its own unique flavors and all were delicious. We shared the Salt Fish Cakes for our appetizer and they were amazing.The place is fairly small and family run. Well worth the drive to Middle Ground for an authentic Caribbean meal.

There are a lot of food options and a lot of places I consider 5 stars in SXM but Caribbean blend has the best food on the island. The restaurant and service never disappoint. The drinks are amazing. Ask for Suzette she will surely take care of you.

One of my all time favorite restaurants. Not just while vacationing in Sint Maarten, anywhere. The owner, Vesna, and her staff treat you like you are made of gold. If my family is fortunate enough, we visit once a year. Not only does Vesna remember us with a friendly and warm greeting, she remembers what we order! This year was a milestone birthday and the food and service went above and beyond. Very genuine. Now letâs get to the food. Exceptional. My favorite, the seafood pasta was as always, truly great. The desserts, simply done and fantastic! Thanks again, Vesna and staff, and we will see you next time.

If you are in St. Maarten, you absolutely must go to The Palms Restaurant. Jo and Greg make you feel so welcome as though you have know them forever and you are having dinner in their home. The food is a absolutely incredible. The drunken ribs are delicious. The espresso martini should not be missed and the double chocolate cheesecake is the best I have ever had. We sailed in on a cruise and were just looking for authentic cuisine. He surpassed that and then some! He was more than friendly and had more to offer than just food. He has the most amazing BBQ banana sauce that is to die for! His kick as sauce and calamari with curry mayo is amazing !!!!!! He also offers beach chairs with drinks at a low price and works with other locals for discounts with jet skis and such! I had oxtails with plantain and rice and peas my husband had the jerk chicken philly ! Amazing cannot say again! Best food for first time visiting St. Maarten !!! Thank you
