I spent a couple of weeks in Puerto Morelos and ended up coming back to Pangea again and again. The location, with it's patio overlooking the sea with a nice breeze to accompany your meal is amazing. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating, the prices are great and the food is varied, interesting and delicious. There are lots of great eateries in Puerto Morelos, but this is one you really must try.

Don't be fooled by the shabby, palapa entrance. Beyond is a large, open air restaurant with gravel floor. Great botanas including a killer pumpkin seed dip. Ate terrific local fish prepared 'al diablo' - spicy but not 'habanero hot'. Served with tasty
This is my favorite restaurant in Puerto Morelos. We visit it about once a year. This was my second visit in six months. On the most current visit, early June 2019, had a group of ten that I brought from the Hard Rock Riviera Maya...first to go snorkeling then to the best kept secret in PM. It's on the road going north from the town square on the road paralleling the sea. It's maybe 200 to 300 yards (meters for you non-Americans) and on the left. It's really a "chill" place with tables in the sand, swing chairs at the bar, and all covered by palapas. You're outdoors but under shade. We were there relatively early, 11:30 after snorkeling. Had some drinks, amazing appetizers (shrimp cocktail, ceraviche, shrimp cooked different ways). The waiter brought out this large red snapper that had been freshly caught and we chose that for our main course. Had the whole fish with rice and veggies. So much fish the ten of us couldn't eat it all. All food was outstanding. They now have a hotel in the back and if you go, take the stairs to the top (five or six floors). The view from the top is amazing. Everyone we have taken there (we usually travel with friends and/or family) has greatly enjoyed this restaurant. I love taking people there because it has a really cool vibe and I know they'll enjoy it. Also, it is very reasonably priced. We sat there for over three hours, had a ton of great food, lots of drinks (beer and mixed), and it was (if memory serves me) around $30.00ish dollars each. A great bargain considering all we had.

This beachside venue, with local seafood offerings,is easily the crown jewel of Puerto Morelos. The deck seating provides a beautiful vantage point to enjoy the ocean breeze. Rustic but inviting, the simple table seating focuses attention on the very ample sized portions of fish and seafood. The cerviche is delicious and more than ample for appetizer fare. Enjoyed well seasoned Mahi filets, grilled with garlic. Made a second visit and enjoyed very tastefully prepared shrimp and pasta dishes. Wait staff are attentive and evocative and the walk through kitchen is clean and efficient. This restaurant was easily the best we visited in Puerto Morelos and deserves a five star review. We greatly appreciate your visit, thank you for taking your time to let us know how we did. We are pleased to know that our love and commitment to our work is reflected in satisfied customers. See you next!

After snorkeling we asked a local fisherman where to get the best cerviche in town and here's where he sent us. It was a short, but sweaty walk from the main square, and in hindsight, we should have just walked along the beach from the main pier to find the tables along the sand. We had a huge plate of cerviche mixtos (conch, shrimp, fish and octopus) with guacamole (including the pit to prove it was just made). We saw whole fried fish that looked amazing, and there was an interesting michalada menu that included pineapple, tamarind or chili flavors. My daughter had steak queadillas and said they were amazing. It was nice to get away from the resort setting and have a meal with our feet in the sand, especially knowing most of our lunch had been swimming in the Caribbean the night before.

Bianco is a concept restaurant located in the beach of Puerto Morelos. The culinary offer is a fusion of the Pa9cific Mexican and Italiana cuisine.
Had wandered in previously by mistake, returned on purpose. Staff accommodating for our large group, pulled tables together, dropped the âdrapesâ to cut down the on-shore breeze. Good attentive service, even by US standards. Food variable. Seared Tuna wasnât. Obviously not high heat and done all the way through. One of our group had Rib-Eye and raved. Another had Pizza and also said âvery goodâ. Shrimp and garlic was tasty, but could have used some more vegetables. I think thereâs hope, give it a try.

What to do and see in Puerto Morelos, Mexico: The Best Places and Tips

We are a tipical local seafood restaurant, worried about our friends satisfaction, thats why we only use the best quality products and ingredients. We offer a good variety of food: guacamole, shrimp quesadillas, fish fillet, ceviches and coctails, shrimps
Our family of 7 visited El Pesquero while on vacation. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Portion sizes are huge and prices are affordable. Shrimp cocktail was amazing and I don't normally even like shrimp! Grilled grouper and civiche also did not dissapoint. It is outdoors in a nice covered, patio area with plastic chairs and your feet in the sand. There are fans and a nice breeze. Highly recommend.

A group of 24 (9 children included) of us ate here and were all very happy with the food and drink which was excellent. One of us try to pay for food all in one but had 2 separate cards rejected twice meaning a trip to the ATM and an unexpected 10% Mexican surcharge on the transaction. When we were about to leave there were just 2 left behind and were surrounded by about 5 staff who demanded an extra 50 dollars as we hadn't left enough tip, unbeknown to us and not advised, we got told we must leave a 10% tip. We worked it out and we were only short by 10 dollars, we gave that and left, it was a really disappointing and intimidating end to the night. We feel a tip should be indicated or given if we feel like giving.Don't hesitate to go here for food but please ensure you keep at least 10% back for a tip.Hi Jamwal 1974. As the operations manager I was there for your table and we thought you had a very nice evening as well thank you for that. I don't remember anybody 'demanding' a tip. We also only had 2 waiters and myself (Raul) working so I'm not sure who the other people who surrounded you were. I'm very sorry the Credit Card machine was malfunctioning that day it was a regional outage and we spent hours on the phone with the bank in the afternoon trying to fix it before dinner service.Of course we would ask you for full payment if you didn't pay us enough to cover the check, as would any business I know of. The check was approximately (more or less) $300 Euros and if you felt any dissapointment from the server staff for not receiving any tip for serving 24 people (including 9 children), I take full responsibility and will review your comments tonight with them.We would never DEMAND a tip. If we demanded tips and acted like that, we wouldn't have the extensive clientele we value so much. It is customary as servers often work as a second job to make money to provide for their family and/ or expenses. In Europe the server staff often makes as much as 5x the salary as they do in the Americas, but the service staff on this side of the Atlantic make their money with tips. 15%-20% is the most common range for good to great service, but 10% is not unheard of. Thank you for your comments and I will follow up with you in a private message.

A reclaimed shipping container serving a globally-inspired menu of delicious, well-made, simple food and a tequila, mezcal and signature cocktail bar with ocean views.
We stumbled, thankfully, across this unpretentious storage container. On the recommendation of customers who had just been fed, we had the shrimp tacos. Nothing short of excellent. Washed down with some local beer and wine, and served by a very pleasant guy, make sure you pay them a visit if you find yourself in this lovely village.
