Crabster is a very mediocre restaurant that caters to wealthy vacationers. The food was not fresh and very poorly prepared. The were several kids running around and crawling under our table and when we asked the waiter for some assistance he ignored us. The food, price wise, also not in sync with the surrounding restaurants. It is very over priced for what you get. Not many locals frequent this restaurant.

We went there twice while in Progreso. They have beach seating, but we sat in the restaurant to get out of the wind. Still a nice view of the water from inside. Everything we ordered was excellent. The rice that came with the fish was surprisingly flavorful. Coconut shrimp was really good, but the best thing was the breaded fish stuffed with seafood (can't remember the name in Spanish). I see a lot of poor reviews about wait staff at a lot of the restaurants in Mexico for being inattentive or slow. It's not poor wait staff; there are just different expectations there. It's unusual for a waiter to come "check in" on your table unprompted or to ask if you're ready for the check. But it is perfectly normal over there to wave down a waiter to ask for something (whereas that might be a little rude here). If you need something, don't wait for someone to come, just wave someone down and ask! It's a different culture.Dear, we thank you very much for your comments, the name of the saucer that enchants you is called "Fillet of fish stuffed with seafood" again we thank your comments regarding the expectations of the services in the beach restaurants,
"El Aguachile de la casa" est un incontournable! Ainsi que le que le "Pulpo frito" et le "Ceviche"! J'ai adoré! L'endroit est très propre et les propriétaires très gentils! Les prix sont super abordables. Le Pescado frito est le meilleur en ville! Et si vous voulez essayer quelque chose de différent, optez pour l'Aguachile! Je me souviens encore... Je vais sans faute y retourner!
We have had a few meals there and a few buckets of beer over our 6 week stay. We would go in the afternoon for a cold beer and a game of cribbage and we were always served a lovely array of snacks to accompany them. They have a good ceviche also. Open 2 to 530 for lunch.
Playa Bonita & Beach Club is a seafood restaurant by the sea in the port of Chelem. It has a pool, lounge chairs, kayak rental, dressing rooms, exquisite dishes and first class facilities to spend a family stay.
We went with a group of friends and kids - and had a great time! The beach club is fabulous and the kids loved the pools and the ocean. The beach is small but is set up well. The waiters were very attentive and ensured we had what we needed. Food was excellent, beer was cold and both came quickly. Pool was clean. We will definitely be back.
