What a pleasant surprise to experience this Taverne in central Montreal. The location is convenient for the downtown core. The size is large and spacious. The decor is a wonderful old style with tiled floor, mirrors, wood, high ceilings, and old restaurant antique touches. There is a nice energy and it is bright enough to be welcoming and open. The Menu is more bistro-like with and 'meals' rather than just burgers, pizzas, fries, etc. I loved the braised pork back, with corn bread, cheese sauce and Brussels sprouts. Service was very good, with fully bilingual staff. Value was good. Recommended for sure, and a little on the unique side so worth consideration

Often hotel restaurants serve up average food in order to cater for all tastes. Renoir seems to have mastered this with providing some interesting and innovative dishes with a slight dominance by the French influences of this city. Scallops with corn was a delicious entree as was the farm foie gras terrine while a main of sea bass with clams indicated the influece of a creative and thoughtful chef. Entree around $25 and mains $30-45 were reasonable prices given the location, presentation and ingredients.Bonjour Rainman37,We very much appreciate your comments regarding your experience at Renoir. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services.Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one.Sincerely,Olivier Perret,Executive Chef

The Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill is a blend of unique concepts. We blend great live jazz, tasty food and friendly service in an intimate atmosphere. Our goal is to provide you with a unique and memorable montreal experience.
Intimate setting for dinner and jazz performance (if you're claustrophobic, you won't like the seating). We arrived for dinner before the first show. Service was slow to start, but actually improved as it got busier. We started with Sangria Rouge, beer, and meatball appetizer. Dinner was Papardelle Chicken Pasta and Steak & Frittes. Everything was well prepared, hot to the table, and tasted great. Jazz trio was the night's entertainment and they did not disappoint. Pianist was a virtuoso and composer of their music with stand-up bass and drums to accompany him. Absolutely the best time we had in Montreal.

The old is celebrated in new ways at Bar George, a modern-day rendezvous set in the grand heritage home once belonging to Sir George Stephen. Honouring the former residentâs roots, our chefs cook up contemporary takes on classic U.K. fare, spiked with Que
We went here on recommendation from bus guide from grayline tours. Located in Le Mount Stephen Hotel. As soon as you walk thru the door you know you are in a special place. We were seated quickly in the bar area. Gabriel was our server. Very helpful with the menu. The cauliflower risotto and chicken pot pie were very good. Meal came in a timely fashion. Gabriel was very attentive. The architecture in this place is fantastic. We were told all original. We took a mini tour upstairs after lunch and the place is fabulous. Great place!!!!

Like other restaurants in Montreal, Burger Bar is on the moderate/more expensive side. Consequently, we only ordered two burgers...splurging on their bison burger and going for the more moderately prices bbq pulled pork sandwich. both were very good, but the bison burger was the best.would definitely go there again when back in Montreal. Our bison burgers are special because the meat is very lean and flavorful. We suggest ordering the bison meat medium to medium rare which really brings out its flavor. Our pulled pork is the best in the city and made from scratch cooked in our homemade sauce which includes real Jack Danial's Tennessee whiskey. So good.

Seaside cottage charm and bustling oyster counter. Sexy Old World wines, and crazy fresh market food. A great club house feel. Perfect for gin-tonic fueled evenings with relatives, friends, lovers and/or Peter Hoffer (aka "The HOFF"). Tout les charmes de
Four of us booked a reservation here as we could not get into Joe Beef which is owned by the same chefs. I love the casual nature of the restaurant and the servers who are super knowledgeable. Our server helped us chose wine to pair with our meal. The portions here are huge, my biggest suggestion, if you go here, order two apps and one main meal as they are huge. Saves a little room for dessert by doing this. I had the fowl and wow..........blow me away. My hubby had the pork chop which was elephant size and my friend had the trout - which was enough for two.

Onoir is the first restaurant in Canada that invites you to experience food, drinks and conversation like never before, IN THE DARK!
What an outstanding unique experience this ended up being! Yes, the entire meal is in total darkness with absolutely no light whatsoever. Every server there is visually impaired, which add to how unique and awesome this was.Our server Sammy absolutely went above and beyond to ensure that we had a unique and awesome dinning experience. We opted to go with the "mystery" meal, which was composed of an appetizer, a main course, and dessert. We also had the option to choose from an A la carte menu, but thought why not going for the full on experience. Every course was so delicious and every ingredient very fresh and tasty. The wine pairing was also really cool as we couldn't tell what they were; total bling tasting. Sammy explained everything and made us feel so comfortable despite the total darkness. This was a once in a lifetime experience that I wish I could describe better. It is an absolute must do, as long as you're open to trying something different. One of the coolest dining experiences I've ever had anywhere in the World!

Chalet Bar-B-Q Rotisserie opened its doors in August 1944. Over the years we have built a legendary reputation for the best charcoal barbequed chicken in the world. Ask anyone who knows. We selectively buy fresh plump chickens and then we slowly roast the
We had a disappointing outing at this restaurant. My chicken breast was just ok, the Cole slaw was very watery and not good. My companion had the chicken wings which were almost inedible, dry and unappetizing. He left the lot. It seems to be a popular place, the waitress tried her best, but if the food isnât up to par, forget it.I would not recommend this restaurant.

We had great early dinner last night. Everything was spot on, grilled octopus with pancetta and potatoes, the artichokes were a tad on the salty side, beef cheeks and the cod. Great job on the presentation and texture combination.Be aware that it is noisy and the tables are super close together.
