We lucked out ....it was a beautiful afternoon to enjoy their wine and their seafood chowder on their patio. Their chowder was full of haddock, scallop, shrimp, and lobster. It tasted delicious. View was their vineyard.Service was great!
Ordered three large pizzas near the end of the evening and they produced three very very large pizzas. We picked up the pizzas as we were staying at Brule Point, which I was glad as it was lovely to meet them, what a fun time. Although this gf person did not eat the pizzas, my family ate all the pieces in a short time which to me translates to good pizza. As the owner said they don't make gf pizza as flour is everywhere which is true. It's a fun pizza place made by true pizza makers.

After spending most of the summer away from Tatamagouche and knowing the restaurant would be jammed for Oktoberfest weekend, we decided to head to Big Al's for Thursday night wings. Although it wasn't my personal best by a long shot (only 30) they arrived very quickly and were crispy, hot and tasty as usual. Thank you to Mallory and Jody who were kept busy as the place was at least half-full when we arrived at 5 pm and gradually got busier as the evening went on. I would still recommend reservations for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights especially if coming as a larger group. We had a good time seeing many friends we hadn't seen all summer!

Read a review before we stopped in for the breakfast on the patio, it raised concerned however realize that the reviewer from Milan had it all wrong! The breakfast we had was absolutely delicious ... Eggs were cooked perfectly as requested and the grilled ham and potato hash were great .Server was attentive and knew exactly when our coffee needed a top up.So pleased we didn't allow one negative review deter us as we would have missed a great food experience .Planning on going to go back for the Seafood Chowder before we leave the area to go home.

Bright sunny breakfast room, delicious breakfast and lunch specials, reading materials, friendly staff, toy corner for children, delicious hot drinks including chocolate, lattes, coffee, teas, picnic fare to go, full English or continental breakfast speci
We stayed at a B and B just up the street from the Caper Cafe. Only problem was the B and B didn't serve breakfast. So we went to the subject of this review. We found it to have a great atmosphere. Cosy dining room, and a very delicious breakfast. Reasonably priced also. Overall a pleasant experience.

Visited this establishment recently and found the atmosphere, decor, and environment to be very nice and had high hopes for the meal. We started off with bacon wrapped scallops (which were great) and then moved on to our entreeâs. Here is where it got really bad really quick. I ordered Macaroni and cheese with lobster, while my partner ordered the lobster dip with tortilla chips. Our food arrived and the first question on my mind was where is her lobster dip? It was hidden amongst a plate of multi colored tortilla chips in a bowl of a size that I would usually reserve for butter in a bread basket. Not only was there almost no dip to be found what was there had absolutely no lobster in it. All of this aside had the dip been reasonably good it wouldnât have been horrible unfortunately that was not the case on top of paying 15$ for some dyed tortilla chips and cheese sauce the flavor was not anything to celebrate. The macaroni and cheese had a good flavor, but the 8$ extra to add lobster was a bit high considering there were two chunks (which I shared with my partner for her dip seeing as she didnât get any) and a few random tiny pieces that didnât amount to much. Additionally I wouldnât call it a 4 cheese blend of macaroni, I would call a three layer cheese soup with the soup on bottom, noodles in the middle and shredded cheese on top. I actually had to eat it with a spoon as the bottom fourth of the bowl may actually have been cheese soup. Now we arrive at the one chance where a restaurant has to redeem itself, the service. Unfortunately I find it hard to speak to the level of service as we only met our waitress three times (including when she brought our appetizer and food) so needless to say we ran out of water (including the small pitcher of water that was left Iâm assuming to reduce the times needed to return to a table) and had we not been extremely conservative with our other drinks it would have been even worse. I would give credit here had the restaurant been busy but unfortunately at the time we were our servers only table. We finish eating what we could (the dyed chips were left on the table as they are gross and not even necessary for the small amount of dip that was served) immediately ask for the check. Begin to pay, and they say âhope everything was okayâ our response was âehâ and without follow up or any concern I am passed the payment device with my server WATCHING as I have to select the tip to leave. I never leave less than 20% so that is what she received but I recommend that visits to this restaurant be limited to seeing the inside, snapping a few pictures, and walking out the door.
