Reviews on Canadian food in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada. Shediac is a Canadian town in Westmorland County, New Brunswick. The town is known as the "Lobster Capital of the World" and hosts an annual festival every July which promotes its ties to lobster fishing. At the western entrance to the town is a 90-tonne sculpture called (perhaps inaccurately) The World's Largest Lobster.

Cost $3 to get on pier. Parking was ample, greeted upon entry, restaurant clean, washrooms tidy but men's need privacy panels between urinals, choice of seating - we picked inside with a water view. Menu good, limited beer selection - all beer from one brewery plus one foreign choice, server was prompt and courteous. All six of us had the all you can eat fish and chips. Fish is one of the best I have had in New Brunswick. Chips were excellent. If they offer more selections of beer, especially New Brunswick craft beers, this could easily have been a 10 / 10 experience.

Our down-to-earth atmosphere is reminiscing of enjoying a family gathering with home-cooked meals and lots of laughter. Our menu is like non-other and offers a change from the âfast-foodâ variety and therefore please keep in mind that certain dishes may t
After an appointment in Shediac, we found ourselves hungry and looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon Ancient Roots and decided to give it a try. Turned out to be a fantastic decision! The space is cozy and inviting. In addition to a bistro, the business is a shop which sells tapestries, teas, essential oils, etc. We grabbed a seat at a table and were quickly taken care of by the lovely owner. I ordered up a crunchy chicken sandwich which was served on naan bread with pesto and veggies. I decided to make it a combo which included an amazing chicken fricot. It also gave me a small chocolate lava cake that was a perfect sweet finish! My wife had a smoked meat sandwich and the lobster chowder. Sandwich was great but she LOVED the chowder. She says it was the best sheâs ever had, and itâs something that she orders often. We had an amazing meal served up by a wonderful hostess/chef/owner. We had a great chat with her and she clearly takes pride in her food, and rightfully so!Although itâs not our thing, she offers lots of vegan/vegetarian options as well. I would highly recommend a visit. You wonât be disappointed!Thank you so much for your visit and this great review. The biggest reason I love doing this is seeing the reaction people get from eating the food that I so enjoyed preparing for them. All the mmmm, mmmm sounds is music to my ears, and on top of that, having great customers is hard to beat, and we have the best!Hope to see you again soon!

Had 2 types of pizza here tonight. A donair pizza and a pepperoni, mushroom & green pepper. Both were decent but not the best Iâve had. One good thing was neither were greasy and the crust was good. Canât complain with the price 2 medium for 17.99....

This restaurant is located right on the wharf, overlooking the water. If you can, grab a table outside on the deck to have a perfect spot for enjoying both your food and the view. We went at a busy time, so service was a little slow. But there are so many things to watch -- not only the water, but the interesting cars driving around, the people, the sunset...We had the fish and chips, which were fresh and tasty. Good experience!

As good tasting fried clams as it gets. Friendly staff. Cozy seating area but on the small side. Larger open air patio with a roof. The clams were excellent and the fries (comparable to BK and McD) are the best I've ever had with a clam platter. Reasonably priced...about 20% less than other restaurants with comparable quality and portions. Highly recommended. Were very happy that you enjoyed your meal. We hope to see you again.

The burger here was overcooked tasteless meat, with what tasted like some cheap bottled BBQ sauce and poor quality cheese. Give this place a miss! The shoestring fries are like eating dried out sticks of wood. The staff recommendation for the burger involved telling me that I wouldn't like McDonald's burgers anymore after I had one of theirs. Well that should have been an indication to eat elsewhere. When you compare your burgers to McDonald's, and assume eating a burger there is your customer's alternative, you shouldn't even be running a restaurant. It took forever to get food, and there were only two other tables when I was in, the server was mostly absent during the meal.

This restaurant isn't normally open in the winter months, but it was open for it's Valentine Dinner special. We had never been there before, and we were not disappointed! We came early, so had our pick of tables, but it was pretty much full by the time we were finished. The menu for Valentines Day had a few choices for appetizer, and four choices I think, for the main course, and a couple of options for dessert. The atmosphere here was very nice - not too formal, but definitely appealing, with soft music playing in the background. We both had the pork and shrimp spring rolls for our appetizer - they were hot and very tasty. For our main, we both chose the seafood casserole, which was very good - lots of sauce, and a fair amount of seafood in it. I loved the asparagus and other vegetables served on the side. The bread served with the meal was great. We really didn't have room for dessert, but that didn't stop us from having the cheesecake, which, like everything else was very good. No complaints here! The service was excellent. We would go back again in season to see what it's like then!

Relaxed atmosphere, music events every week end, large patio
Last summer on our way to PEI, we stopped in Shediac at Le Coast and had the most amazing lobster rolls. Having to go to Moncton this year, we made a point to stop again. Ordered calamari which was delicious and fresh and we both order the lobster rolls. While still very good, they werenât quite as amazing. Still one of the best weâve had. Service was good and it is fun to sit outside and watch the cars and people go by.
