Things to do in Morden

Had a great meal at the Timbers on New Years Eve. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. In addition, there was a chicken pasta dish and jumbo shrimp of some sort (delicious). Nicely not overcooked vegetables and roasted potatoes as well. Fresh salad to start and some kind of wonderful cheesecake for desert. The ambiance was quiet and the overall experience was superb. All this for $30.00 taxes in.
Burgers. Pizza. Poutine. Ice Cream Morden's hometown ice cream parlour and your place for fresh, handcrafted 1/4 lb. burgers, homemade fries, poutines, thick shakes, and thin crust pizza loaded with toppings and quality mozzarella cheese!
We go here quite regularly (maybe TOO regularly?) for ice cream - which is really good stuff. They have a ton of flavours of parfaits, twisters (read: blizzards), milkshakes, and sundaes. Occasionally we have a meal here - the burgers and hotdogs are excellent - much better than the previous owner's fare. Finally - a great burger in Morden! Pizza is pricey, but it's that thin crust goodness you find in most Manitoba establishments. The servers are very friendly and glad to see you.

We had a quick lunch in the Morden Motor Inn restaurant after visiting the nearby dinosaur museum. We just opted for the soup of the day and grilled cheese sandwiches but all were tasty and enjoyed. Service was friendly and efficient. We have been there before while passing through and will be back again.

Spicy Chicken breast a top a poutine. Fries were nicely done. Nice crunch on the outside tender on the inside. Moist and crunchy chicken breast with flaming hot sauce. A perfect treat after a long drive. Enough to share or go all in. Friendly staff and clean.

Our party of 4 arrived after 10 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was almost full throughout our visit. The breakfast menu is very large, with cereals, eggs, waffle, omelets, etc, and multiple choices within each menu item. Also there were two specials written on the board at the entrance. I chose the egg special with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast. The eggs were lightly scrambled and I had a choice of type of hash browns and toast. It was very good and filling. Another member chose the waffle special which included pudding and fruit. He said it was good but the pudding wasn't what he expected. The others had the eggs, bacon and hash browns and said it was good. Prices were reasonable. Service was very good and the meals came quickly after we ordered.
We had dinner with my husband at this chicken Chef and I've never been a fan of the franchise.. specially the one in winker. But this one is definetly different in a good way. Is cozy, the food is good and the service is good as well.

The pizza was delicious. The handmade crust was better than I expected it to be. Would recommend this pizza to anyone. However, we had to wait 50 minutes for the pizza to be made, which was a little long a wait time. And when we sat down, we werenât served utensils, plates, napkins, or offered drinks. The service definitely was poor. All in all though, I would have the pizza again.

While in town for a medical appointment, I stopped in for lunch and came away completely satisfied and super impressed! The Olive Tree is a miniature McNally Robinson offering an exceptional selection of children's books, toys, & games as well as a wide range of popular adult book titles plus all sorts of gift ideas and stationary needs. The café is in the back of the store--it was difficult making a choice, because all the menu items were very appealing. In the end, I enjoyed the popular Mordenite perogy soup (I'm DEFINITELY making this for my family this weekend!) and a half-order of the ABC Panini (avocado, bacon, chicken) with a mug of "orange scone" David's Tea (they offer quite the array of David's Teas). The food was professionally prepared and artfully presented--I have never seen a more beautiful bowl of soup! My only regret is that I did not have room for dessert. At the till, I raved about the bread in the panini and was told by Ashley Funk (co-owner) that it was fresh-baked by her husband (co-owner and chef) daily on the premises and I was able to purchase a loaf to take home. The Olive Tree is a real gem!
