A walk up food stand with the nicest owner! You can eat there on a couple of picnic tables or take-away. Chez Serge truly has the best battered fried fish and best poutine in town (and surrounding area). There ARE other poutines around, (all the same price), but Chez Serge has the best value.. And, the fish is the real deal! Similar to fish n chips in the UK. Get napkins!

Iâll start by saying the food was excellent. 8 orders and all of the seafood dishes were spot on. Price point was very good, and the location is clean. The only drawback was they were backed up out the door and new and seasoned staff were struggling. 5 stars for the effort though. Ticket times were 20 minutes at least with another 20 waiting to order and another 20 waiting for seating. Server was on her 5th shift and we could tell she was putting the effort in, but nerves were getting frayed. A couple orders got mixed up as well. Would I come back? Definitely. Would I recommend? For sure. Just mind your timing. We showed up at 6pm Sunday night and they were in the weeds. Looking forward to my next visit when in the area.

I understand that there's new management and a new chef at the Kaslo Golf Course restaurant, so we tried it -- twice! The menu is pretty simple, but the quality was really good both times. Excellent beef dip, super Caesar salad, and excellent chicken strips for the kid set. The fries are kind of cool: round slices like chips only more flexible, like fries! The kids loved them. They were happy to provide some carrot sticks for the kiddos and the zucchini sticks were so tasty with honey mustard sauce. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was prompt and cheerful, even on a busy Saturday evening, and of course the view is phenomenal from the golf course :) We will definitely be back.

Stopping over in Nelson, BC for 2 nights, venture out to nearby Kaslo to check out this small town. When we got in town it was pouring rain with high winds. After driving around town to take in the scenery, we found a parking spot right outside of Buddy's! We wanted to try this place from great reviews from Yelp, and here we are right outside!!Our friendly server settled us in and made sure our table was cleaned, decided to get a couple of dishes to share:Caprese Salad :Fresh ripe sweet juicy tomatoes tossed with bocconcini, fresh basil in olive oil & balsamic. Simple yet full of flavour, perfectly balanced acidic & sweetness!! Refreshingly fulfilling!Spaghetti with Sausage & Tomatoes:The sauce being the Soul any pasta dish was made to perfection here!I love how simple the flavour is, with the natural sweetness of the tomatoes, and the slight smoky flavour from the sausages, this mixture blends perfectly with the pasta. With slivers of fresh basil punctuating the dish throughout. The Pizza Bread that came with the pasta dish is by itself outstanding! We decided to get a single slice of Pepperoni Pizza just to give it a try and it was also top notch, the single slice was warmed in their Stone Oven so that we would have that crisp...one word to describe : Perfecto!!The owner and the family that works here really gives their heart to the business, you can feel the warmth from chatting with them and you can feel that the food they serve also has heart!

Tucked away in the mountain of Kaslo, B.C. the Bluebelle Bistro has been a cornerstone of the community for over a hundred years. Once the local saloon, the Bluebelle specializes in comfort food, made from quality ingredients. We source our proteins from
We had dinner here--my partner had the Classic Burger and I had the Mediterranean flatbread. We each had a side salad (the burger comes with it). The Mediterranean flatbread is flatbread baked with baba ghanouj, thinly sliced lemon, cheese, and what is billed as "marinated grapes." It's tasty, but I think I got only one or two grapes and couldn't tell what, if anything, they were marinated in. My partner liked his burger---nice bun and condiments, but felt that the grind of meat used was not fatty enough. It's nice to have some fat in the ground meat. The side salads were very nice, with a generous portion of goat cheese. Desserts consist of the baked goods in a bakery display. My maple pecan tart was good--the tart crust was tender, not hard. The caramel chocolate bar was less satisfactory, partly because it was difficult to eat because the chocolate was so hard. Service was average--it appeared there was only one waitress there when we were there.
