A gift certificate for the Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint on First Street in Collingwood is what got us to their front door. We had heard about this restaurant, one of many in this tourist-busy town, but had never visited there even though we live in Collingwood. As we walked into Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint the friendliest greeting ever â in our opinion â greeted us. A receptionist showed us to a booth and the friendliness continued. Our server was Katie and she took our order for Chicken Fettuccine ($16.00) and Porky Pie ($19.00), along with a coffee ($2.25) and a Diet Coke ($2.99). Our drinks were brought to us before our meals arrived and that gave us time to watch what was happening in the largely open-space restaurant, which also has a bar.It seemed to me that people enjoy working here, things were friendly. We enjoyed our meals, but there was quite a bit to the Chicken Fettuccine so my partner opted to take her left-overs home. No problem. A friendly server provided us with a take-away container.Overall the dining experience here was one we would repeat. On our way out to our car, in the parking lot, we met two adults and a youth going in to have some dinner. The man, it turned out, is a major âmover and shakerâ in a Canadian restaurant franchise. While we would recommend Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint, it would be interesting to know what that in-coming customer thought of it. If you have never been to Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint, take a few minutes to read through their menu. It's interesting in itself with such things as Queen Pie, Eggs Benny Pie, Beauty Pie and Hedge Hog Pie; just to mention some of the many choices they offer. With tax our total bill came to $45.47 and on their invoice to us they provided a âGratuity Suggestion Guideâ of 18 per cent which equals $7.24. I believe that with the excellent service we found, the staff members at Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint deserve their gratuities.

Some serious issues with cleanliness, handling money and raw ingredients. Don needs to clean his pans, floor and everything else. Hire some help so he can keep up with orders. Cash only. Pepperoni is poor quality, cheese is good, sauce is sour, crust is homemade and fine. Price is good. Invest in display case so you can sell to kids by the slice. Really like Don though what a character. Takeout only. Maybe panzerotti's are better.

Not pleased at all with my experience here. My family and I stopped in for what we thought would be a nice family dinner. Boy, were we disappointed. Needless to say, we will not be returning.Service: Waitress was impatient, borderline rude, looked miserable with her job, and the food took overly long to get to our table. We almost got up and left due to the negative service, but stayed because we'd already parked it, so to speak.Food: Run on the mill at best, meat was dry, sides were bland, the meat was undercooked (I understand smoked meat comes across as pink due to the chemical reaction of the smoke with the meat, but this was just flat-out undercooked), the food hurt all of our stomachs afterwards, there was nothing "culinary" about the grub- it was basic and overpriced. After having visited the restaurant, I can see why the Vaughan location did not make it and closed down a few months ago. The quality is just not there.Play it safe and stick to Montana's, save yourself the negative experience.

This place continues to deliver after many years. Specials change daily, and the stalwarts on the menu are good value. The wings are easily the very best in the area. Attended last week for lunch with a friend. He had egg salad and soup and I had a nice curry. Service is good, friendly and professional. Could be a little faster coming out of the kitchen, but this doesnât detract too seriously from the overall rating.

Northwinds Brewhouse & Kitchen captures the adventurous spirit of our surrounding area by creating globally inspired hand crafted beer paired with innovative, locally sourced and seasonally focused menu.
We found ourselves in Collingwood last Saturday as we were out enjoying the Fall colours. Of course we had to stop in at our favourite culinary experience in this area Northwinds. I say culinary experience because this is exactly what it is. I had the Waygu Cheeseburger and it was absolutely fabulous. Tender and delicious with juice running down your hands as you bite into this fantastic burger. It's extremely tasty! The extensive array of fresh brewed beers is mindblowing.

We are happy to open any day for party's larger than 10 people! We are a farm to table and nose to tail restaurant that represents local cuisine at its finest! Menu changes often with the seasons. We only believe in quality!
Great experience all around. A must stop if youâre dining in the Blue Mountain/Collingwood area. A quiet atmosphere with only a handful of tables, so definitely reserve before you go. Very knowledgeable staff, made the experience that much better. Food was cooked to perfection, presentation was a work of art and most importantly everything was absolutely delicious. Will return again.

We frequent downtown Collingwood several times a year and this place was recommended to us by friends in the area. I thought it was new, but has been in operation for 5 years. The Fish and Chips (Halibut) was excellent. The Chips are hand cut and cooked perfectly. The Halibut is fresh and quite meaty and not greasy at all and cooked perfectly too. The slaw is quite tasty. We sat on the patio out front which was nice. Staff are very friendly. We love the name and the logo....!! Highly Recommended !!Thanks for finding us!

A place where people who share a love of authentic food, complex coffee, and a proper drink will feel appreciated and comfortable - where guests are greeted with open arms and treated like family. The Tremont Cafe is defined by its inspired hospitality an
Two for Brunch ... reservations recommended. Walking the main street and Simcoe Street arts area ... Cool vibe with an open kitchen and bar, and dining areas in a heritage building with art gallery/artist's studios on the second floor. Ambiance was perfect. Kind of a grey day so we started with mimosas, ordered one Smoked Trout Benedict and one Country Ham Benedict. one shared creme brule and espressos.

My husband and I loved the space - they have done a great job with it - unfortunately though the food was disappointing. It was fine - but there was room for improvement. We both ordered steak and both of our steaks were over cooked - we ordered medium - mine was medium-well verging on well-done and my husbands was very close to well done as well. The rest of my food was warm, not hot and under-seasoned. For the prices they charge I expect a higher quality of food - for the $130 (and that was just for 2 entrees) we spent it was a let-down. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We pride ourselves on listening to our guests and have addressed this with our team. It's pleasing to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant itself and its décor. I am sorry though that we let you down though when it came to your meals, please never hessite to bring these issues up when you are here. We will always do our best to make sure we fix the problem and make sure your experience is a great one! We hope you'll visit again soon and allow us to exceed your expectations.
