Welcome to The Buttery Restaurant in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Celebrating 27 years of Better Food & Better Service.
Surprisingly average meal for $16.99 plus tax and tip for the Sunday breakfast buffet. The peameal bacon was dry, the eggs benny was average, the sausage was so-so, the bacon was well cooked, the scrambled eggs were decent and the fruits and veggies were okay, not the best, not the worst. The service was nice enough, but no apology was made when overcharging on my bill. For the food quality, or lack there of, and the price, Iâd look elsewhere for a breakfast option in Newmarket than the Buttery.

My absolute favorite pub! Staff always remember your name! Homemade burgers are incredibly delicious. Always several daily food specials, and everyday is a different drink special. Staff is accommodating and attentive. Best pub fare in town! I've been coming here for over 20 years!

We are Chip+Malt and we love food. REAL food. Our ingredients are always fresh, natural and sourced locally. This means No MSG, hormones, antibiotics, preservatives or anything you can't pronounce. Our fish is caught WILD and SUSTAINABLY caught, never far
A couple of our friends had recommended this restaurant so the hubby and I thought we'd give it a whirl. The service was great - quick and very helpful with going through the menu. The food was amazing and the portions were incredibly generous... which my husband really enjoyed! Fun atmosphere too.

Of The Kegâs Iâve visited I found this one to stand out. The staff were friendly and the restaurant (and lounge) were appropriately busy. It took us 2-3 minutes to find a table for 4 in the lounge, but thatâs the way it should be.

While the food may acceptable and probably good, the attitude of the ownership here is ghastly. Would you eat at a friends house if he treated you this way? Read on. We were super hungry and a little bit on the irritable side but looking forward to some good BBQ. As I said I was irritable, but nothing out of the norm for someone thatâs a bit hungry. Certainly not enough to get what we received..... here goes.....When the owner got ahold of me it was game over. This guy is something else..... condescending, disrespectful to his own clientele, disrespectful to his own staff and a high school bully archetype. He consistently badgered me, telling me to leave the store after I cancelled my order because of his attitude. He is a very prideful man. The other staff looked on with awkwardness, and clearly a level of understanding on how I felt. They clearly felt shameful - many were looking down at the floor while he went on his tirade. Contrastingly, I maintained a level of mildness and professionalism. Given the circumstances. This also explains why we noticed the store always seems to have tension in the âairâ. The feeling is a little bit tense and I never understood why, or really noticed for that matter....... this guy is the reason why. OR...He just simply sets the rude full tone for how to deal with customers. My guess is as good as yours on this one.Further, to support my claims, you can read some of his comments towards other reviews on here, and you will notice the nasty tone in his writing - or, at the very least, hints of his nasty tone. Anyway eat here, if you feel like supporting somebody like this, but otherwise take discretion. These are my thoughts anyway. Iâm sure heâll have something predictable to say. I ask you again, would you eat at a friends house if they treated you like this?As predicted my staff and I mentioned that a review was most likely coming from you. First of all you did by your own admission come into our place VERY irritable.I can honestly tell you that the tension in the 'air' was caused directly from you. You placed your order and we were on our way preparing it when you decided to cancel aftrer accusing us of overcharging you.Brisket is $18.50 per pound and its clearly stated on the menu.Feel free to look at the price of brisket anywhere and you will see how fair our pricing is.Would you appreciate me going into your place of business and questioning your integrity on how you run your place?Even other customers overhead your complaint and mentioned to me that you were rude. Perhaps you didnt even want to order anything in the first place? Was your intent to bash our family run place from the moment you walked in? Interesting I think insulting me on a personal level and my integrity and has no place here on Trip advisor. Please dont come back

This is usually one of our favorite restaurants. We usually eat here twice during our stay. Unfortunately, this year everything was off- the food and the service. Without question the restaurant needs more staff. Too many big parties with numerous minor changes to menu options, waitstaff serving tables in outside and inside, waitstaff standing around oblivious to the needs of diners. It took forever to get water, bread, cocktails, and our meals weren't great. I hope this restaurant gets back on track.

Really good food. Bison burger is outstanding. Great that you can spot the side dish into two halfâs. Instead of a full plate of fries, you can get fries and soup for example. The fish and chips were great. Would definitely go there again.Thank you Jacqueline, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

This place was opened on April 1st, 2009 and has but 20 seats. The only way that a restaurant can be in business for 10 years with this limited seating is to provide excellent food, excellent service and everything at a reasonable price. It's all here !We will definitely be back !

First of all every single thing I've eaten there is ridiculous delicious. The biggest problem with going is I can't decide mussels, (OK, for sure mussels), Brussels (OK, definitely brussels), Paella? (OK must have Paella), and then no chance to try anything else. It's not a 'cheap' restaurant, but the prices are totally reasonable. I'm sure the service was good? I don't really remember much past how good the food is...*Hint: They should do a 'family style dinner for 4' that takes in a few more dishes to help get people past the Paella to some of the other I'm-sure-delicious, items on the menu
