It was worth the drive from Lafayette to eat at St. Johnâs. We went on Sunday around 12:30. There was a pretty good crowd (even with all the rain) but we were seated right away. Our drink orders were taken and shortly after we were given a basket of warm bread and individually wrapped butter as well as a small container of a specialty butter. We could not place the flavor of the butter so we asked our waitress. She said it was Steens Syrup mixed in the butter. I found it very tasty and even put some on my baked sweet potato. Our party of four all ordered different seafood items and we were all very pleased with our meal. I ordered off the lunch express menu which stated the items were available Monday through Friday but our waitress confirmed we could order from it on Sunday. I got the fried shrimp (7) which came with a side order of my choice. I chose a sweet potato and added a side salad for an extra $1. The portion of my meal was perfect for me. When I finished my meal I was very satisfied but not over stuffed. The restaurant has a case with few gift items at the check out as well as some T-shirts. However I didnât check the prices. We will definitely be back! Great food, good service, friendly people and reasonably priced food!

We had been to St. Martinville many times but never stopped to eat here. The small cafe directly across the street from the St. Martin de Tours Church is cozy, comfortable, and the food is great. The waitress came straight out and said they had great burgers. She was right. The fries were equal to the burger. The prices were more than fair!

Passed here on Highway 31 before St Martinville. Best fried chicken we had so far since our road trip from Chicago via Kentucky were we ate quite alot of fried chicken in all forms. Food was very fresh, juicy chicken. Clean restaurant , very friendly staff. We almost drove past as it is not well sign posted. If you do nothing else- order an appetizer or at least the chicken!!! Was excellent!!
It's called Cajun Fried Chicken but chicken is usually the last thing we get. They make great, old-fashioned burgers that taste like they just came off the pit. Their fried rice is really good and they do a number of seafood dishes.
