Local flavor at it's best near the Fairgrounds! BBQ Shrimp poboys, Gumbo,Bloody Marys etc.
This was the third place I stopped to get a Po Boy while in New Orleans, and the first to actually be worth it. I ordered the fried catfish Po Boy, which was very good. The service and atmosphere was also above par. It's only a short walk from City Park, so check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

had some guest visiting from out of town and as they wanted some authentic NOLA cuisine, i took them to this dependable neighborhood restaurant. the kitchen always does a very good job of presenting typical new orleans cuisine highlighting local seafood. we all enjoyed our meal. service was good and helpful in describing the selections for the visitors. pricing is fair. all credit cards are accepted.

Itâs so sad that one overzealous bartender decides what everyone else likes or MUST like these days. On this evening, I started my first attempt to eat the Kenner location of Zea Rotisserie & Bar. I ordered a drink at the bar, asked for a âMoscow Muleâ. Anyone can google and find the ingredients of this drink even though there are variables. The young lady brought me a drink with cucumber and mint smashed drink that I was about to throw up. I hate both mint and cucumber in my drinks. I asked for a âPlain Simple Ordinary Good Old Moscow Muleâ. She told me that she must make it the same way but she can strain the mint and the cucumber after she makes it, canât help with the smashed cucumber. Thatâs my only choice. So I left!Ended up at the Clearview location because I love their food and thought may be the overzealous bartender is only limited to the Kenner location. I WAS WRONGI escaped the mints but the smashed cucumber and a slice of cucumber was still in the drink.THE MOST ARROGANT PART WAS THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR A DRINK CALLED âFRESH MULEâ NOT MOSCOW MULE WHAT I ORDERED.About a year ago, I had a conversation with the bartender at the Kenner location and he told me he came up with this new idea on this drink and he might offer it to customers who wants it. Well, now itâs the law. This OVERZEALOUS bartender is shoving in your throat a drink that he doctored himself with smashed cucumber and even changed the name of the drink. If you order a âMoscow Muleâ you will get a âFresh Muleâ. Oh well, as much as I loved the food here, I canât go anymore. I canât drink a drink with mint and smashed cucumber.Just for an idea: You could put it in the menu for the customer to make a choice whether he/she wants a Moscow Mule or a Fresh Mule! Or, just ask the customer if he/she wants a regular drink or a doctored drink by the overzealous bartender???The last I checked, a restaurant is part of the hospitality industryWe are very sorry to hear about this regrettable experience. We will pass along your concerns and hope in the future you will be able to give us another shot. Please feel free to contact us if you desire to.

We were here on a Wednesday night, with reservations, and were seated promptly, in a very nice place. We chose the special ârestaurant weekâ menu, and were very pleased. Good clean place, good service, outstanding food, and valet parking. Itâs a very noisy place when full so be forewarned. A neighborhood gem, mostly locals dining, nice bar, large group private dining room upstairs, view of the live oaks in City Park.

Closed due to damage sustained in Hurricane Katrina.
My son and I went on a brief New Orleans trip and our driver from the Airport recommended Mandinas as good local restaurant. He was totally correct and would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Oh my goodness! This is our new favorite when going to New Orleans. We always make sure to eat at Crabby Jacks in Jefferson before leaving the area. Plentiful seafood in every poboy. The food is always fresh, the staff is friendly and it is always clean!

Home of the Original Charbroiled Oyster!
After reading all the negative reviews of the Poydras location (in spite of many personal recommendations from locals), we decided to go to the Metarie location instead. The service was excellent and very friendly. Of course, the reason to go is the chargrilled oysters, which my husband ordered. I am not an oyster fan, so I had a shrimp remoulade po'boy, and it was very good. I did try one of the oysters, and, indeed, they are delicious. We went early, (11:15ish) and by the time we left, the restaurant was full, so it is a popular place. The Metarie location does not take reservations.

If I lived nearby I would be a regular. Super friendly staff. The food is outstanding. This day I had the Boudin Balls and Seafood Gumbo. The Boudin Balls were very good. The Seafood Gumbo is special among the best I have ever eaten.
