Great fresh soups and homemade bread, plus a salad bar and a few hot choices. There is a market, too, but we just had lunch there, and liked it a lot.Mark, thanks for stopping by for lunch. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and hope you'll visit again the next time you're in town!

The Store at 5 Corners

After writing my previous review of this establishment, time passed, and I must admit that I began to tire of the limited menu, the paucity of the portions and the inflation of the prices under Nadia Dole’s management. While the items remained tasty, one gradually came to feel that one was being ripped off. As well, the lack of prices on food and other items in the shop was a disagreeable ploy to intimidate patrons into buying overpriced goods out of embarrassment. There was a decided hypocrisy present, despite the quality of the prepared food.Happily matters are better than ever under the watch of Chef Patty Boudreauryan, who has reduced the prices, increased the portions and improved on both the offereings AND the taste! Anything that she and her bakers (Erica is tops!) prepare is made with care, top quality ingredients, true professional experience and the desire to please patrons as opposed to separate them from as much money as possible. The lasagna, rotisserie chicken, turkey Reuben, orchard sandwich, curried chicken, and potatonsalads are standouts among a long list of hits. One really can’t go wrong no matter what one orders. And then there are the desserts! Exquisite and, like all else, most reasonably priced. There is a rather unbelievable egg breakfast that sells for a mere $3.00. When asked how it is offered at such a price Chef Patty said there was no need to gouge patrons for such a simple meal. WOW! Would that all places had such an honest approach. The produce and other grocery items are also offered is greater variety and at sane prices. One no longer is forced to purchase pretentious prestige items when all one wants is a simple jar of tomato sauce, a tasty wedge of cheese or a fine, sensible wine. The Store at Five Corners is FAR better than ever. One could dine there every day in the midst of a quiet and pastoral atmosphere.

Cafe Seven

Service and provision at the cafe disappointed greatly and was such a contrast to the experience of the galleries. Having ordered and paid for food and coffee, our companions were then told the coffee machine wasn't working and they would have to accept instant coffee. Also apparently it was impossible to give recompense for the different price. We also made do with the instant coffee which was pretty tasteless as was the snack we had. Perhaps this was just an off day?
