A nice place to browse thru the books with special area for kids. Lots of reading materials and you can always have a coffee stop or you can order great sandwiches for lunch or brunch. A very unique place that is fun for everyone
We were on vacation in Montague and wanted to grab a late evening dessert. The staff saw us peaking through the window and opened special for us. There wasn't a lot of seating, but we just picked up desserts to go back to the rental. Our cheesecake was incredibly creamy and delicious. When asking about what the best seller was, we found out about the Sugar Cream Pie. They didn't have any in the case, but had some fresh from the oven. They told us we would need to refrigerate it overnight to get it to set. We did and it was worth the wait. If you love Crème brûlée, you MUST try this pie! My mouth is watering thinking about it. This is a fantastic spot to grab dessert, but they also had some yummy looking scones, so you might could pick up breakfast too. Go early in your vacation, you will probably want to go back before you go home!
Until last year there was a little health food store in New Era, about fifteen minutes up the road. That business has moved into a brand new building right across the street from a car dealership. And the owner has expanded her healthy snack options into a full-blown cafe!I ordered a coffee with an extra shot of espresso and while waiting noticed some healthy breakfast cookies, fruit, oatmeal AND unhealthy apple fritters! (Guess what I picked to go with my coffee? Yes, it was delicious! ;)Cafe 31 has a lunch menu with soups, sandwiches, and wraps. I'll have to come back another time for lunch. It also appears that they'll be adding a drive through option at a later date. The coffee was real; just as good or better than a popular java shop in town, and I think slightly less expensive. No complaints from this coffee snob!Still plenty of empty shelves in the shop but they are brand new. Should be a convenient place this summer to order lunch to go while you shop for bulk spices, supplements, etc., or sit down and enjoy coffee or tea with a friend.
