A Small chef driven kitchen specializing in artisan soups / salads & sandwiches using local, sustainable , seasonal ingredients. Located in a funky old Mill building. Serving breakfast & lunch
What a great find, coming upon this small bistro in the center of the Velvet Mill on a Sunday afternoon in Stonington, CT! Such a friendly and welcoming couple who know what they're doing, by creating a hearty, filling, tasty sandwich! The Pressed Cubano was amazing! As locals, we can't wait to go back and try another item from the great list of mouth-watering selections! Don't miss out - Especially for those visiting Beer'd Brewery...take a walk down the hall and grab a sandwich to go, to bring back and enjoy at the Brewery! Anna & Matt, we'll be back!

This little restaurant in Merchant's Square provides some awesome breakfast and lunches for the locals and those that get in on the secret. Steve and Colleen work together with their staff to provide yummy food and great service. My family's favorites are the soupy omelette and Steve's omelette. Steve makes his own corned beef hash and fills the omelette named for him with this delicious filling. Lunch is also yummy and they make great fish and chips on Fridays.

Small restaurant located off the main road serving AMAZING food! Biscuits and gravy for me, were incredible, some of the best I've had. Wife and daughter had corn beef and cheesesteak, both were very pleased with their decision. The bread is baked on site daily and was fantastic. Pastries are also baked on site, but we have not tried those (yet)! Owners are super friendly and helpful!

Dropped in for breakfast the morning and it was a good surprise. We had been there once before when it was another restaurant and haven't been back but another restaurant had stopped serving breakfast and directed us to Mia's. I had the quiche which was creamy and filled with just the right amount of ingredients, good crust, soft and tasty home fries and ripe, flavorful tomatoes. Friend had an omelet and cornbread, also delicious. Good coffee, real cream. Definitely going back!Hello Candice, We are happy your found us! Thank you for taking the time to review us, we always appreciate it.We hope to see you back soon.Cheers,Mia

We visited Ocean House, in Watch Hill, RI in late May, just before Memorial Day, and stopped into The Dune Cottage, down on the beach for wine, while taking in the great ocean view. Memorial Day is rather a big event, as it signals the beginning of âthe season,â and The Dune Cottage was sort of coming out of hibernation. While it is open year-around, weather permitting, it really comes into its own, on the weekend before Memorial Day, and prior to that, is but an abbreviation of its âSummer self.â We got to see it âcome to life,â as the holiday weekend approached. On our first visit, staff was setting up The Dune Cottage for full operation, and new folk were being taught the drills. When we arrived, chairs, sofas and tables were being set up on the beach, just off of the patio, which surrounds the âcottageâ and its boardwalk. At first we were not sure if they were fully opened, but one of the staff said that they were, and if we did not mind watching the furniture come out of storage, we were welcome to the âbest seat in the house,â which was a nice table, at the railing of the partially covered patio area. As it was still a cool morning, we were the only patrons. Now, The Dune Cottage is several things: the entrance to the beach from the Ocean House, a restaurant (limited menu), a bar (with wine), the food/beverage service center for the cabañas and a focal point for beach goers in the area. It has a âhutâ (not a âcottageâ by almost any definition), a wooden patio with sail awnings covering it, a beach seating area, and then the cabañas, and later in our stay, myriad beach chairs and umbrellas. While the wine list is an abbreviation of the ones at the main dining areas, and bars at the Ocean House, there was enough to work with â at least for me â the Joseph Drouhin Chassagne-Montrachet! We ordered, to find that much of the wine had not been brought down from the Bistro barâs wine cellar, but our server begged us to wait, and it would be in-hand very quickly â and it was. One good thing about our glasses of this lovely Chardonnay, is that by the time the wine got down from the âmain house,â it had warmed up a bit. On our entire stay at Ocean House, with its excellent service, food and an extensive wine list, we found that most of the white wines were served too cold. This is probably a sign of the beverage staff trying to accommodate the tastes of the majority of their clientele. Especially with a bigger Chardonnay, we like the temperature to be just below âcellar temp,â so in the 50-55 F range. Most were served at a temp that we find better for Champagnes and sparklers, around 40-45F. With its little journey down to the beach, the Drouhin was just about right! A little patience paid off.Service was very good, even with folk doing other things, and the new âtrainees.â It was friendly, and very accommodating.Later in our stay, we stopped in for lunch, but a cold, heavy fog had rolled in, and even with our foul-weather gear, we decided after a few minutes, that we would head back to Ocean House, and dine in the shelter of Veranda. We were going to stop back, the next day, without that fog, but time got away from us. We did get to peek at The Dune Cottage, on the Saturday before Memorial Day (our departure day), to see what it looked like in full-swing, with hundreds of patrons. It seemed like all of the trainees had learned their lessons, and were scampering everywhere with the crowd â a different scene and vibe, than on our first two visits. Also, I would guess that 200 beach chairs had materialized too.Nice little wine list, interesting short food menu, friendly service and a lovely venue â we will return.

The food here is always delicious and they have a great bakery for those of us who have a sweet tooth. The woman who owns is the place is always so nice and makes sure you feel welcome and always stops by to say hello.
