PULSE Vegan Restaurant is owned by a Vegan, and is the first of its kind on the Isle of Wight. Serving Breakfast Lunch and Evening Meals, as well as healthy snacks and takeaways, for adults on their lunch-break, and for children on their way to the beach.
Hubby and I are both long-term vegan so we were delighted to find this little gem of a restaurant! Thanks Sandra, we thoroughly enjoyed our supper last Saturday night. Hubby had the spag bol and I had a "no-bull" burger in ciabatta. Nice fresh ingredients and VERY tasty. We also shared (OK hubby had most of it) the very moreish chocolate brownie with hot fudge sauce and ice "cream" - AMAZING! To top it off we both had hot chocolate with "cream" and vegan marshmallows - it's been AGES since I had that! Please support this little gem of a restaurant.Thank you so much for your lovely reveiw

We decided to pop in here on our last day for breakfast as we'd been in the day before for a coffee..We arrived not long after they opened and found ourselves a table. We ordered our food (english breaksfasts)and drinks and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The drinks arrived and shortly after the toast. The food arrived and it looked lovely and tasty just as it looked.I was however disappointed to find our table covered in sugar and bits of food on the floor. Which I wouldn't normally have minded but they'd literally only just opened so we were one of the first customers of the day. Ihad go clear the table off myself as by now the 2 members of staff were busy. Same really ad the food and staff were nice.

Called into Chale Green Stores to pick up some lunch from the Deli & Cafe which is at the back of the Store/Post Office. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff who explained the price of takeaway food is £2 cheaper than listed on the Cafe menu. There was a good choice of sandwiches or baguettes, quiche, scotch eggs, savoury tarts and sausage rolls. We chose sausage rolls (delicious)which were heated up by the Chef in the kitchen, a scotch egg (huge with runny yoke) and slice of quiche (not heated and a bit lacking in flavour). The latte coffee was delicious. There was also a selection of cakes available. The small cafe overlooks a garden and I noticed a plaque on the wall saying it had been officially opened by Alan Titchmarsh.Well worth a visit. Good parking at front of Store.

We are a cafe restaurant. Friendly, professional and welcoming. Our food is freshly prepared. Our breakfasts are renowned. Lunchtime Fish is bought on our door step from the fishery to order... we literally walk across and buy the days catch. We have an e
We were staying in a Hotel which didn't do Breakfast, but less than 100m away, at the Eastern end of the bay esplanade, was a lovely cafe which did Breakfast, and Brunch, and Lunch and Tea. We looked no further, and for our week in Ventnor went nowhere else for meals up to 5.00pm.Staff were outstanding as was customer service as was the food. As an example, I didn't want their, Granola + Honey + Yoghurt, and asked if I could have, Granola + Sliced Banana + Fresh Orange Juice poured on? 'Certainly Sir', was the response, 'that's what we are here for.' We went there every breakfast and lunchtime for the week. I think that says a lot. By the third day we were like old friends returning, and there was a welcoming wave from Besty or Spinky from behind the counter.Highly Recommended

Came across Cantina purely by chance, looking for shelter on a very wet morning in Ventnor. Ducked in to ask if they were dog-friendly, and thankfully they were. Really wished we hadn't eaten breakfast beforehand - because I would have LOVED to have eaten there. The food on the tables all around us looked and smelt DIVINE. Enjoyed some delicious coffee though. The service was wonderful (the two of us - plus our four-legged friend were made to feel very welcome) and the place has such a lovely ambience/vibe. Next time we're in Ventnor we'll be going back there for sure, but this time with empty tummies!

Staff were nice here but be warned this place only takes cash and no cards. This is the second place we have visited in Ventnor which is like this, and the staff say the reason being is they want to reduce the cost to customers. Seriously in this day and age, how many people actually carry any amount of cash and what would the actual card charge be for a £15-20 meal?? I run a small business myself and it costs me just 1.5%. Quite honestly I'd prefer to pay more for the convenience as I don't want to have to try to find an ATM! In addition to this, the food we ordered (a crab sandwich) was disappointng and I could have made a better one for myself at home! All brown meat, no white meat at all, no salad garnish, no mayonnaise, no lemon with it, very poorly presented. Very mediocre for the price paid and sadly we wish we'd have picked up something from the supermarket up the road instead.

For me there is nothing more enjoyable on a holiday trip near the coast than a good crab sandwich. Our b&b host recommended the Beach Shack and the recommendation was well founded. Steephill Cove is a charming little spot on the coastal footpath and a stone's throw from Ventnor Botanic gardens. It's a simple beach café with a verandah. My crab sandwich on granary served with a few crisps came in at £9, but it was well filled and delicious and savoured while enjoying the sea view. The chap running it was also very affable and on the ball and made for a delightful visit. You need to be able to manage the slope or steps to get there and back mind, but worth the effort for those who can.

NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2019 SEASON - OPEN EASTER 2020 A fantastic little restaurant that serves up crab pasties to die for and fresh fish and seafood fresh from the waters In front of the cove.
What's not to like? A fab little place right on the coastal path which serves superb crab pasties, salads and in our opinion the best crab sandwiches on the Island! Friendly service, lovely fresh crab and a great spot in the cove. After staying on the Island for six weeks this summer and walking the entire coastal path, we have eaten a LOT of crab sandwiches and this place wins hands down, so we've had to go back a couple of times! Not many tables, but well worth a visit and the possible short wait for a table!
