Coffea - Vence

My wife and I visited this place twice during our short break in Vence, the first time because the nearby places were too busy, and the second to relish again the lovely breakfast, the relaxed atmosphere and the quiet, easy efficiency of two excellent waiters (whom I suspect could well be the owners, too) whose English was as good as if they were native speakers. (Perhaps they even are English????) The warm scone with mandarin and nougat jam was pure delight, honestly! The menu was a bit of a shock as they only do "breakfast", which is really a lovely little snack which I found suitable for any time of the day. The rest of it is a glorious array of coffees, teas and hot chocolate; enough for even the pickiest of gourmets I should think.Location-wise, it's very good! Very central, in a small square and slightly risen above the surrounding pavement, the terrace is great for people-watching, with a steady flow of tourists/visitors/locals winding their way to view the nearby small cathedral and the town hall, or just wandering on through the Place Clemenceau to wherever next.Thoroughly recommended on all counts! 10/10!

Wow! Everything looks beautiful and the Macarons are from another world. I've lived in France, but this is really a hidden gem and not to be missed! And on plus, the girl that sold us these delicious things, was not only very sweet, but knew about her products!

Just off the square in the historic part of Vence, this corner restaurant seemed more traditional than the series of rather characterless eateries in the square itself. We just wanted a simple lunch of omelette 'natur' with fries and green salad. The omelettes were cooked well, the 'frites' above average, and the green salad was accompanied by a good dressing. The pichet of wine was also quite acceptable. Service was reasonably efficient. Both desserts of Dame Blanche and chocolate fondant were also nicely done. Although we did not try any of the plat de jour suggestions, they looked good and reasonable value for money. There is parking available underneath the square though likely difficult to find a place above ground.
