Things to do in Swaffham
Zoltan who is the man who runs this patisserie is amazing, enthusiastic, welcoming and not to mention a great chef-his food and cakes are a sheer delight to eat-thank you!!
We are under new management here at the bus station cafe and amusements with a new chef with over 20 years experience and knowledge doing everything from full English breakfast to home cooked meals like cottage pie, beef stew and dumplings and home made s
Difficult to review this cafe as there were some good plus points and some negatives. We arrived at 8.50am and the cafe was barely a third full, so only averagely busy. We both ordered the Double Bubble Breakfast which at £6.90 per head looked very good value for money - Two eggs, two sausages, 2 bacon, fried bread, toast, beans, tomatoes (fresh or tinned), bubble and squeak and black pudding. The young lady who took the order said there would be a bit of a wait and quoted about 20 minutes when asked. This transpired to be 45 minutes which was too long. If the cafe had been full, I canât imagine how long the wait would have been. The breakfast arrived on the biggest plate I have ever seen and the portions were certainly generous (there was even an extra egg). It was all pretty well cooked and fresh, but sadly the sausages were not proper butchers bangers, but some cheap supermarket variety and the bubble and squeak was little more than mashed potato with a tiny bit of cabbage. I guess though for £6.90 we could not expect decent sausages. All in all it was ok (apart from the wait), but for an extra £1 or so on the bill and some decent bangers, this could have been very good.

Very good experienceI ordered burger, chips and Fanta and in less than 10 minutes my food was brought to my table by a very pleasant mannered waiter. The staff are attentive and want to make you feel welcome and the café is impeccable and smells fresh and clean. It is built on a corner opposite the car park.I certainly will return to Swaffham café on my next visit to North Norfolk and will recommend them to my business associates.Site visitors may wish to also read my other two reviews of the other two establishments in Swaffham. One is positive while the other is not.

This was an emergency stop off as we were travelling a long way with a tiny baby. Stopping in a 'truck stop' wouldn't have been our first choice but it was a necessity. The two staff members didn't interact much with us (one was busy cooking)but the other attended to us as soon as we enter and was helpful. We only had light snacks so judging the food is difficult. What we had (toasted tea cakes ) were fine. The baby changing facility was very clean and the rest of the premises was welcoming if a little worn in places.I would return for an emergency but think this establishment is better suited for truckers, which is who it is predominantly aimed at.

Swaffham as a town is not the most inspiring place but we enjoyed lunch at the Market Cross. My wife had chilli con carne. She enjoyed it: I tasted it and found it pleasant but not that spicy. I had the vegetarian deli slate, which came with hummus, falafel, olives, onions in balsamic vinegar and warm bread: very attractive presented. Staff were pleasant. The decor in the cafe could perhaps do with a bit of a refresh, and our tea pot was not the best pourer! But all in all a nice place for lunch.

"An English breakfast at Strattons Cocoes Cafe Deli is truly memorable, Cooked by Vanessa Scott she uses only the finest ingredients - locally sourced specially cured back bacon, an exceptional Norfolk sausage, two free range eggs anyway you like them cooked, two perfect tomato halves and a fanfare of mushroom beautifully presented with cress and a choice of different breads or toasts with butter and homemade marmalade.Vanessa uses only the finest ingredients and her cooking of them is perfection. Her menus are highly creative and tempting and, for those not wanting her special English breakfast, there is a battalion of alternative options to suit every kind of customer and taste. Her coffees are second to none and there is a wide range of other beverages including teas and freshly squeezed juices.Les and Vanessa Scott are exceptional hosts and Cocoes Cafe Deli is a wonderful and most welcome addition to the Strattons name and reputation serving memorable food throughout the day in a beautiful setting, just off Swaffham's town centre."Tony KenberKingâs LynnJuly 2019
