Reviews on Cafe food in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Named for Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford has grown to become Canada’s premier arts town. In addition to the annual Stratford Festival, performing from April through October, Stratford is always filled with theater, music and visual arts. The preserved 19th-century architecture and acres of parks and gardens (along its own Avon River, no less) are certain to charm. Stratford has also gained a reputation for culinary creativity, showcased at some of the finest restaurants in the country.

We discovered Black Angus Bakery & Catering when we visited Stratford for a few days last week...and, wow, what a discovery! They use their mothers' and grandmothers' recipes to make treats that are fantastic - so fantastic, we went back 2 days in a row. We had date squares, lemon squares, zucchini muffins and Sweet Caroline squares that reminded me of my Mom's recipes. And, some great newer goodies, such as chocolate croissants fresh out of the oven. I recommend you stop there for takeout coffee and baking, and then go enjoy the Avon River and your treats. We will absolutely be back next year!
I love the bean.... and another barista opens in Stratford. All show off a great variance on their presentation style. And the customers have their own style too, a regular klatch at each spot. Certain people ... I can find in their particular stop. The Yard has the right stuff from the start. The Yard goes the extra mile in delivering up-front friendly service in a nice ambience.Q-Trip: A hop, and skip from the Avon Theatre.
Great food...not fancy, but lots to eat. Try the omelettes...they are amazing! Not a big place, but if you go after 10 a.m. you will not get a seat...the locals love this place!

Festival Theatre Café: Located in the lobby of the Festival Theatre, the café offers a wonderful selection of light lunch and dinner options, sweet treats, drinks and ice cream, as well as pre-ordered picnics. Theatre Bars: Enjoy snacks, beverages, wine,
There aren't many opportunities to get food near the Festival Theatre just before performances. The Arden Park and Bruce Hotel restaurants aren't far way but for those arriving at the Festival Theatre with little time to spare it isn't feasible to go to either. Luckily the Cafe at the Theatre is open both before the show and at intervals and provides a range of food and drink to satisfy those in need of sustenance. Located just inside the South entrance to the Festival Theatre it serves sandwiches, ice cream bars, assorted pastries (flourless brownies, scones and the like), coffee, tea and drinks that purchasers can consume at seats in the large foyer. Patrons can also order lunches in advance to be picked up at the Cafe on the performance day.

A small, purely plant based cafe specializing in healthy, flavour packed Grab n' Go and Eat-In menus.
Stumbled across this place when on a day trip, drawn in by âplant-basedâ on the sign since we try to support vegetarian and vegan places when travelling. Amazing. Two delicious horchatas topped with cold-brew coffee (cinnamon creamy caffeiney treat) kicked us off. We shared a Smokey Mac & Cheese and an All-day Breakfast. I donât normally like âsmokeyâ but it was delicate and delicious, loaded with veg, comforting and topped with gorgeously smokey curls of coconut âbaconâ. The all-day breakfast was hearty and tasty with a variety of tastes and textures, including an especially nice thyme-flavoured slaw and great tofu scramble. Will be back next time.

Stratford's Original Sandwich Shop! Serving up delicious Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, Home Baked Goods. Ask about our Catering and quick To-Go Items!
Sat at the end of the restaurant at the only large table and enjoyed a fast and great service, a good choice of salad and sandwiches, going for the canadiana, with canadian bacon, fried egg, lettuce and tomato on a warm bagel. Loved it, as we loved the pastel colours

We ate here three mornings because it was right around the corner from our hotel. Omlettes and eggs benedict were good but the place was seriously understaffed. All three mornings there were two waitresses for about 35-40 patrons. As a result, service was painfully slow. This was high season in a tourist spot so surely management knows that breakfast will be busy. Breakfast with tip about $16-18.

We happened to get a parking spot right in front of Sirkel so we gave it a try. We started out with a bowl of vegetable soup that was brimming with fresh veggies. It was served hot, not just warm, which is a must for us. We then split a turkey sandwich. The bread was fresh and homemade (not sure if they make it at the restaurant though), the tomatoes were fresh and so delicious. Cheese is always fantastic in Canada. We then split a gigantic date bar. It was so good it inspired me to make them when we got home. Highly recommend.
