Reviews on Cafe food in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. Hiking trails and art galleries abound in Stellenbosch, but it's wine that takes center stage. More than 100 wine cellars, most open to the public, surround the oak-lined South African town, and tasting tours operate daily. Winter brings a four-day festival celebrating the local vintages. The historic town center houses the trading-post style shop Oom Samie se Winkel, the Neo-Gothic Moederkerk church, and museums dedicated to toys, military memorabilia, autos and early life on the Cape.

Oude Bank is the Stellenbosch outlet for Boschendal Farm. Our wish is to provide you with farm fresh produce grown on Boschendal and delicious country cuisine that changes with the seasons. Our eggs are collected by farmer Rico Vergotine, our beautiful me
Very disappointed. The service was terrible. Although the waiters were friendly, we waited ages for our drinks and food, without any feedback from our waiter. My husband sat with an empty glass and was never asked if he wanted another drink. The food was okay-ish, but horribly overpriced and at R125 for a burger I expected much more. Instead, I got a bang average burger with a slightly dry patty. Won't be going there again.

This place is a stunning coffee shop. The service was very good for a very busy morning. The staff was friendly and considerable. Coffee was well prepared and was excellent. It was warm and the atmosphere was great for a Stellenbosch morning. The only thing was the salad, it was not good at all. It was too small for what you pay for and not even good ingredients.

The Bakery Restaurant at Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch has a relaxed and fun atmosphere, evident in the modern, yet simple décor in neutral shades with a splash of red, where visitors can unwind and enjoy the freshly produced fare and top quality win
We had lunch and breakfast in the bakery, or rather on the terrace overlooking the lake. It is a lovely place to sit with stunning views. The food is very good but service was slow and at times we had to get up and go and prompt the waiting staff. All a bit too relaxed!Thank you so much for the review. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to the estate and enjoyed your meal.We appreciate your feedback regarding the service, as The Bakery at Jordan take pride in the service standards. We hope to see you back at Jordan Wine Estate soon.Best wishesThe Team at Jordan Wine Estate

The Stellies Taproom on Klein Joostenberg is a collaboration between Joostenberg Bistro and the Stellenbosch Brewing Company. Free Wifi, Rolling Lawns, Craft Beer, Organic Wine, Covered Stoep, Fireplace, Picnic-Style Eatery
Drove up from Stellenbosch specifically. The brewery section is set up on nice grounds. It was a very hot day, so it was a little uncomfortable finding shade in the gardens and not a huge amount of choice if seating that could be classed as comfortable or inviting..Initial thoughts on the place when trying to purchase a beer was the fact that it was almost like a school canteen. You walk up to the beer pumps and stare into the faces of the 20 somethings that stare back at you blankly and you automatically think you can order a beer over the bar. You cannot. You have to walk right past several bar staff and go to a cashier. Now that is confusing as you do not quite know what you want to order, this being a brewhouse and with plenty of apparent choices. So after stammering a bit because you are taken aback with the concept of not being able to talk beer before paying, you confusingly try and order something you think you want, hurriedly, so as not to feel a total Pratt. You are asked your name, you pay your money and hang about shuffling your feet until the 8 or so bar staff have a piece of paper passed from one to another with your beer order attached and your impulse purchase beverage of âchoiceâ is poured and your name is called. Call me old fashioned, but that is just bizarre and impersonal and having your name called a la Starbucks, is plain odd for such an establishment. Especially when it isnât busy. Perhaps it works better when there is a big crowd that needs to be pushed through, or perhaps the owner is just paranoid about bar staff pinching money and so have only one person handling cash. Either way, I didnât like it much and have seen nothing like it in my 47 drinking years anywhere else in the world.I had the draft Weiss beer. Pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about. The menu at the bar was hopelessly inadequate and not worthy of us staying here, so we went to the bistro a short walk away. The bistro does not have draught beer, so ordered the same Weiss there in a bottle. Different colour, different taste and vile. I drank 1/3,and left it.As breweries go, the ambience and the oddities donât stack up to a pleasant experience for the average punter of a certain age. A big miss for me and way wide of the mark. Then again, I turned 60 this year and am far from being a trendsetter. Maybe if I was 4 decades younger and willing to see negative experiences as surprises and not a shock to the system it may have appeared different. Wrong demographic for this place perhaps? Dear sir, You are most certainly are our target market and we take all reviews both positive and negative extremely seriously. Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. The heat wave this weekend was for most people unbearably uncomfortable, even in the shade. We would have hoped to bring some respite with an ice cold beer and I apologise that this was not the case. Our Taproom processes are indeed geared to facilitate large amounts of people and queues on busy days to ensure efficient service. Our bartenders are trained to offer friendly and knowledgable customer service and should engage with all customers, describe our beers, offer suggestions and explain the ordering process. Should they be too busy then the floor manager should step in to support and engage with customers. As your experience was definitely not up to par, we will ensure this is rectified with further training. We love to talk beer at the Stellies Taproom and we would encourage you to please return for a personalised tasting with myself, the owner and brewer ([email protected] or 076 062 4922). As for the Weiss ordered at the bistro, I will look into that first thing Monday morning and confirm product best before and drinkability as our product quality is our single-most important priority. Please accept our apologies and allow us an opportunity to improve your experience at The Stellies Taproom. Sincerely, Bruce Collins (Founder Brewer)

Ya-Ya Cafe is a restaurant that serves fresh, seasonal and rustic foods (country chic) in a friendly environment where people can relax and feel at home.
The only fault I have is that I canât go there enough! The service was fantastic and such friendly staff that are willing to help you with anything The restaurant is stunning and has a brilliant atmosphere and is one of the few places where the WiFi actually works! I am able to work off my iPad and phone with working internet! The menu is so diverse and reasonably priced and a few meals that are a must try is the salads, soups, chicken schnitzel, pizza and wrap. The staff are more than informed about each meal and are will to help you decide and show you the favorites as well give their opinion. Not only is the food excellent but the coffees are out of this world as well as a wide range of wines and bar options This is really is a must eat restaurant

Now open 3 nights a week (Wed/Thurs/Fri) this fantastic restaurant deserves recognition! SUPERB food. Described as 'wholesome home cooking' (it is), we chose calamari, and the bobotie parcels to start, the vindaloo curry as mains, and a cheesecake for dessert . DEElicious! Fab service too. Can't recommend it enough! GO!

Java Bistro offer full breakfasts with lunch, dinner and an open show kitchen with qualified chefs preparing your gourmet meal to perfection Enjoy our side walk seating with a glass wine from our cellar with over a hundred to choose from
Have been to Java a lot during my years as a student. Service is always good, but can sometimes take a bit too long. The food is tasteful but don't come here if you're looking for big portions. It's more about the vibe and the coffee. The pizza special is pretty nice though.

Casual cafe at Stark-Conde Wines, Stellenbosch
We hiked that Jonkershoek Nature Reserve and it was recommended the we visit The Postcard Café on Stark-Conde farm in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch after the hike for coffee and wine tasting. We were not disappointed. Sitting under a shady veranda overlooking the mountains that surrounds the valley and the lovely Japanese style pond. We had good service at the Café and the tasting room. We will be visiting again.
