The views from the cafe are fabulous, overlooking Old Town Bay from above. Great value children's meals which unlike many places actually managed to fill them up.The cream teas complete with delicious cranberry and white chocolate scones are thoroughly recommended

If youâre after the best coffee on the island and a lunch stop, Strudel in Town is the place to come. With fantastic views across the harbour, weâre a small cafe serving delicious German lunches, soups, paninis, and cakes. Our barista coffees are made wit
We have visited the cafe since it first opened. Normally the service is excellent and the food just as good. What a disappointment when we visited today at lunch time. The place was fairly quiet and we found a table easily. I went to the counter to order and was told I would be served at the table. So the wait began! There were two staff, one appeared to be taking orders and making drinks and the other preparing food in the kitchen. We waited at least 20 minutes after I had enquiried at the counter and there was no sign of us being served or acknowledged in any way. In fact the person taking orders seemed to be chatting to someone about how quiet they were instead of serving customers. If this was my first visit I would not be returning. As it is I wonât be rushing back. As we left the person at the counter just said âthankyou and goodbyeâ as if she had no idea that we had not been served. You may have a delightful position and will no doubt continue to make money by default but you wonât be getting any more of mine any time soon. Very, very disappointed. Both here and your up country cafes are usually brilliant, especially the strudel but we will have to miss out!

Longstone Café offers a range of lunch options and homemade cakes. The newly refurbished café is situated almost in the centre of St. Mary's. With views over Porth Hellick, an outdoor children's play area and pretty summerhouse for small wedding ceremonie
We went to the regular Friday Lobster night and we had a great evening. Started off with a complimentary drink followed by a short talk from the owner who is also a lobster fisherman which was both interesting and informative. The meal consted of a half lobster each augmented by an excellent salad buffet. Lots to each and well worth the money.

We found this place on the way to a lovely beach whilst in our buggy and we are really glad we did. They kindly let you park here but donât miss stopping off for a bit. The cafe itself has a beautiful cottage style garden full of agapanthus that leads down to the beach. Inside, the walls are full of local artist paintings and itâs nice and clean with good toilets and shelter if itâs hot. They do a full range of food- I had a pasty which was enormous (and I am a big guy), Troytown ice cream, crab sandwiches. It is a really nice cafe. Some older gent behind me said it was the best meal he had had on Scilly. And I probably wouldnât argue. Friendly and helpful staff means we will do our best to come again for lunch. Best of all, the bus stops outside. Hurrah!! Oh, and by the way, check out the chocolate Jaffa cake.
