Weâve been meaning to try this place for months and when we finally did, it didnât disappoint! Lovely family meal with great beers. The staff are super helpful and friendly, offering great advice on dishes and drinks. It was so good, we went back for our second visit to try more off the menu just a few days later. St. Ives seafront sit in and take away cafe. Small licensed cafe specialising in home cooked food. Gluten free range of food. Well behaved dogs allowed.Minimum spend required over lunch time.
I cannot rate Pels highly enough. My daughter has Coeliac disease and holidaying can be hard on her. St Ives is a beautiful place but watching everyone eating fish and chips on the sea front is tough when not one of the many food outlets could cater for her (this shocked me). Pels saved the day. The staff were highly knowledgeable about cross contamination and offered more than one choice. We went for take away pizza which my daughter said was the best gluten free pizza she has ever had! So much so that we went back twice more on our week in St Ives. Although some people may not understand how profound a pizza can be it made my daughter feel normal and for me to watch her being able to to eat her dinner on the beach is something I will never forget. Thank you so much to the lovely, friendly young ladies that served us. Please keep offering gluten free.Thank youMrs EWe have worked hard over the last four years since we took over Pels to ensure our Gluten Free menu is to the same high standard as all our other produce and I am glad we have hit the mark for you guys We know how important it is, particularly for Celiacs, and to read your Review and see what it meant to you and your daughter is so rewarding Please do come and see us again and thank you for taking the time to write your lovely Review

Iâve just had some very special beetroot and pomegranate soup here. Delicious! Also, a piece of wonderful coffee art. This cafe has friendly service and is good value for money. I was also impressed by the facilities provided. Two unisex loos, a bijou but perfectly adequate baby changing and breast feeding room and crate of toys for kids. So, if any of these are important to you, Iâd definitely recommend this cafe.

Birdies is quite nice but it could be spectacular. It has a wonderful location, the food is good, but not great. The service is very attentive. But overall it left me wanting more. We ate there twice, once for a late lunch and once for dinner during our last trip to Carbis Bay. We would certainly go back as the meal choices are quite appealing and reasonably priced.

On a hot sunny day, the Beachcomber provided a pleasant and relaxing lunch. We ordered 2 BLT's which was excellent and well presented with a good salad. The service was very friendly, efficient and welcoming. I will look for The Beachcomber next time I am in St IvesGood clean toilets

Whilst there are no complaints with this restaurant with a position to die for the presentation of the food just didnât quite hit the spot. Perhaps the description in its name cafe belies the approach that whilst it charges upper mid range prices, over £50 a head, it has a very relaxed approach. Seamless service and well cooked food made the experience enjoyable. On arrival we wondered why we had booked, it became clear as the evening progressed that this place gets very busy with arrivals perfectly timed to load the kitchen so food is fresh and waiting times are kept to an absolute minimum.Very much worth a visit but do book if you donât want to be disappointed for dinner.

I cannot recommend this place enough the service from the owner Mark was absolutely impeccable. The place is very small and making a reservation is a must. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyoneâs food was amazing. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time. My favourite dish was the balsamic tomatoes with melted goats cheese as a starter and the lemon sole was amazing as a main. Such a big portion.

This place did serve us the best vegetarian breakfast weâve ever had!! (They do serve meaty breakfasts too!) And if that wasnât enough, the best homemade scones with clotted cream and jam too! We were literally in heaven! Absolutely spot on in every possible way! And itâs run by such a sweet couple who genuinely care about their guests. To be honest, this was one of our bests, if not the best, meals we had when we went to Cornwall; and we canât recommend this place highly enough! You should definitely go there, I genuinely mean it!
