A simple cafe by the beach. Breakfasts served until 12pm Lunches until 3.30pm We look forward to seeing you soon.
After enjoying a walk along the beach and clifftops from Thorpeness we settled down in the afternoon sunshine to enjoy a drink and a cake before the walk back. Friendly service and tasty offerings this makes for a good venue with a choice of snacks or larger meals as required. Seating available either inside or out and adjacent to the beach and car park. Toilet facilities located next to the cafe.

We were in Aldeburgh last week to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a very hot day and we popped into Munchies to get a cool refreshing drink. All the tables in front were taken but we were told to go through to a courtyard. There were about 5 ladies already there and at least 3 people came to deliver their food and drinks. We waited and waited and waited. We tried to catch the eye of the 3 girls who serving but we were completely ignored. After some 20 - 25 minutes we got up and left. A cheerful young man said thanks for your visit and come again! Well no actually we won't. It is polite to actually acknowledge someone and say they will be with you shortly.Hi This is so sad and clearly a miscommunication Itâs very, very rare that we donât attend a table immediately and I apologise unreservedly for this.If you didnât have menus with you at the table, that are given as you arrive, then the waitress would have assumed you had already ordered as we take them in once you have ordered There is a public access to our terrace which maybe you used rather than the restaurant front door and then you wouldnât have been on our radar ? Customers with menus are served within a few minutes without fail If you had come in through the front door we would have said just that â We will be with you shortly â we actually tell the customers as they arrive the name of the person who will be looking after them so we canât have greet you at all. Iâm so sorry this happened but we canât close the public alley that goes up to our terrace

Juniper Barn is a Cafe and Village shop serving home-made and locally sourced food to locals and visitors to the area. The shop stocks store cupboard essentials and Suffolk foods, fresh fruit and vegetables, milk and bread.
We joined our daughter who was staying in the farm house for breakfast twice! and it was fabulous. Every village should have a cafe like this, friendly efficient service and great food. This cafe also houses the local shop and a gallery for local artists, as has been said before a little gem.

Independent Cafe located on Hall Farm, Saxmundham Road, Aldeburgh with great views of Aldeburgh marshes. All our food is homemade. We serve a wide selection of cakes, pastries, fruit and cheese scones. We also offer quiches, sandwiches, panini, soups, sal
One visit for breakfast (not cheap but top quality ingredients all freshly cooked) and another for Sunday lunch (good plate of food again). Excellent on all counts and so far from the corporate chains as it could ever be. Local people running their business their way and very well too. Donât expect rushed in and out service, go with the flow and enjoy. Recommended.

We popped in here for breakfast last Saturday on the way home after attending the Latitude music festival. I seriously doubt you could find a more warming , engaging, conversational , authentic, pleasing welcome at any Cafe in the UK. The two ladies running the show should start a business of advising others on how easy it is to provide AAA customer service. The food was fresh, well cooked and presented and extremely well priced. The flat white coffee was so good I ordered a second. Would definitely recommend a visit if you happen to be passing through Saxmundham at any stage.

We were in Aldeburgh for the day, and having had a full English breakfast at our cottage, we just fancied a snack and a non-alcoholic beverage (heavy night previously). This is a charming tea room, and had plenty of customers, so we took up a couple of tables in the rear âcourtyard.â Massive selection of teas and other hot drinks. A few of us also had a bite to eat, with the jam and cream scones going down really well (cream first, then jam is definitely the way to do it). Enjoyable

We had a terrific late-afternoon 3 course meal with several drinks, the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious, the fish curry is to die for and it's probably the best garlic bread we've ever tasted. Marvellous value at £72 for 3 courses and several drinks including wine.

We are a popular local farm shop and cafe restaurant inSuffolk. Our cafe restaurant strives to provide delicious meals, snacks, drinks, cakes and Desserts, homecooked and using only the freshest and local ingredients where possible. OPEN MON - SUN 9AM-5PM
The carboot is really good, and I would recommend a visit either to buy, or sell. The shop (in our opinion) is extremely overpriced, for example: a bloomer loaf £2.00, a Savoy cabbage: £1.90!!! We are all for trying to support local produce, but £1.90 for a cabbage is beyond belief! Worth a look though if you are passing, to see if pricing improves.Clareybun, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are really disappointed that you didn't enjoy your visit to our farmshop. Unlike supermarkets who buy in huge bulk for reduced costs you will find most independent farm shops are around the same in pricing. We are not part of any chain and so we price accordingly and to our costings... We have regular customers as well as many returning visitors who spend with us knowing we are a farm with costs to cover there is so much more to pricing than some people realise. Our bread is from a local family run bakery and where possible our produce is either homegrown or UK sourced. As a farm shop we sell high quality produce and we don't belive in cheaper always being the best. We hope you will try us again. many thanks

Eaten here several times over the years and this is the first time Iâve come away mildly disappointed. Service a bit disinterested even though not busy. I had baked haddock which was ok, a fair bit of skin and bone, and the accompanying poached egg was well cooked ( being kind). As we shop here regularly will no doubt try again, but there are so many excellent eateries in the area I may not.Thank you for your feedback and sorry you didn't enjoy your meal as much as previously. Our Cafe 1885 menu is regularly reviewed to keep it fresh and seasonal. We hope you will return again.
