We are an independent bakery in the centre of Shaftesbury, selling freshly baked breads, cakes and savouries. Open from 8am, come in & enjoy one of our cooked breakfasts, a slice of something naughty or one of our lunchtime items. We also sell Monmouth Co
Great coffee, creamy Cappuccino particularly. Pleasant ambience and good selection of cakes and savouries with a breakfast that really does taste and look homemade. Friendly staff and a non rushed feeling. Lovely place to sit with a newspaper and get a chilled start to the day. Only very slight downside: when the door is open on a warm day, diesel fumes from the passing noisy delivery lorries is a tad annoying.

On Tuesday, 11 of our members visited the Jailhouse Cafe. We were greeted by our two favourite trustee prisoners, Trevor and Terry. They remembered us from our previous visit ,last month. we had : scampi and chips, ham plough mans, vegetarian cauliflower cheese, tuna mayo baked potato, and an all day breakfast. All were presented most attractively and in plenteous quantity. Then, desserts, sticky toffee pud, Apple pies and various ice creams. All superb. Please visit this is wonderful choice at a really good price,

Had breakfast here two days running whilst at the End of the Road festival. Best meals all weekend. Exceptionally nice service, from who I presume was the owner. Delightful. And catered very well for my Scottish friend! Would definitely go back.

Love stopping here for a coffee and cake: enjoy just watching all the activity. Itâs a lovely spot overlooking the vale & Shaftesbury in the distance besides all the planes landing and taking off.Have to say the coffee has improved since they now use a barista machine: cakes have always been good.Hi ! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to us, we have had a barista machine for 8 years now so it must have been a while since you last visited! Don't leave it so long this time :) Laura & team

We went here for lunch. What a view of Gold Hill. The food was great and very very reasonable towards our East Coast USA prices. It is small inside but quant. Six of us ate for 79 british pounds, lunch, dessert, and drinks. It is located right on top of GoldHill and close to many stores and sites. Would definately go the next time we are in England.
