Based on the other reviews, we stopped for lunch here recently. I had the open salmon sandwich on brown bread, served with a salad. The smoked salmon was really tasty but felt it lacked a dressing to go with it. Service was very friendly and fast. The view of the harbour was beautiful. I had a slice of cake for desert and it was delicious.Overall, a great place to stop. I will return.

On our way to Mizen Head, we liked the look of Schull and a fortuitous parking space outside Newman's made us realise this was our lucky day. We shared a pizza with about five additional toppings and I also had the starter of anchovies with fresh bread and oil. Service was excellent; we look forward to a return visit on our next trip to County Cork.

This popular restaurant is what West Cork is all about. The clientele and staff were a mixed bunch of foodies from all over. No pretensions or "emperor's new clothes" about this place! The food was beautifully prepared and presented. I would honestly say that my own cooking and diet have been greatly affected by my experience here. The surprise dish is a great idea.

Visit to the area with friends over from the UK - first visit in a while and another great experience. Orange Cake was superb and along with a restoring pot of tea was just what we needed. Artwork on the walls was a winner with our friend who loves her pigs and has purchased Anabels work on previous trips over. Also enjoyed playing a couple of games of dominoes from the pot on the table!

This is an Aladdin's cave of homemade vegetarian treats for me: spelt bread and rolls, delicious hummus, spelt cinnamon buns and cakes, fresh vegetable soups on a daily basis. Food may be eaten in the cafe area or taken away, and the friendly staff always pack my purchases in brown paper bags and stow them inside the cardboard box that's invariably provided. In addition to this, there is a fantastically well-stocked health food shop. I only visit once a year but Hudsons Wholefoods never fails to impress!
