My husband and I were in town for an event that started very early in the morning and in our quest for a cup of coffee we stumbled upon this place. Not many establishments are open before 7:00 am, including this place, but one of the waitresses opened the door for us when she discovered us sitting outside waiting for them to open. The place is pretty small, but cozy. Both my husband and I got their breakfast pasty. It was tasty but the crust was a little doughier than what we are used to. I heard the waitress tell a customer about their awesome cinnamon rolls and thought to get one until we discovered that they grill them as ordered and take a little while to make. We wanted to get one to go, however as it was a very busy weekend, people were standing around waiting for a table and I would have felt bad making them wait even longer as I wasnât interested in giving up my table to wait in line myself for a cinnamon roll. Perhaps we will get one when we are in the area again. The wait staff was very friendly, even when one of them just about ended up wearing a pot of coffee because of all of the people that were standing around waiting for a table. The only thing I really didnât really care for were the bathrooms, they were right off the dining room and were extremely smallâ¦â¦â¦.you definitely would not want to make a lot of noise in there, if you get my meaning. They were also not handicapped accessible.

We went here because it was recommended by someone my husband knew who used to live/vacation in the area. We arrived about 7:50am, people seated and eating. We had a large party (8) and they put tables together and we sat down. We should have anticipated trouble when the lady who seemed to be in charge was rude to her employees in front of patrons. Waitress took coffee orders of the 5 of us who were seated (3 others showed up a few minutes later). We were here for a swimming event my husband did and went to breakfast because we had at least 2 hours before he would be in a location we could actually watch him swim. This place has the worst service ever. The whole room turned while be waited for basic breakfast food. 45 minutes of waiting and my sister went to inquire about our food. Instead of remedying the situation the owner (man) argued with her on how long we had been there. One plate came out, then two, then two more, I asked for mine with a box because we had been there so long now I was worried my husband would finish before we got back. The food was not even that good. The service was terrible. Definitely need to figure out how to run a kitchen. Breakfast should not be this hard. Skip and find another place.
This non profit coffee shop is run by church volunteers. It's a remodeled laundromat and is beautiful inside. It's spacious with a gorgeous view of the harbor. Plenty of tables, fantastic fireplace- it's very inviting. The staff is friendly and efficient (especially Jody). It's closed on Sundays when they have church services. I had the Mighty Mac latte- it was wonderful- and a delicious raspberry pasty. If you are visiting or live in St. Ignace, I recommend a stop for coffee and pastry (many choices of both).
