Beautiful big wedges of cake, cupcakes, scones, sandwiches of 2 different flavours (or you can have a selection), pot of tea, and crisps! This is not a delicate dainty afternoon tea, but it's a very tasty one! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have toasties, sandwiches, cakes, and special childrens meals which are presented on benches, trucks and swing sets to really impress the kids! The food is great - and the value fantastic! Free parking about a 5 minute walk away. I would recommend booking in advance however, as we went on a Tuesday around 1pm and people were being turned away who had not made reservations.
Went here with partner and as usual had a great meal . Lots more selection which is nice and the cafe is clean and tidy It really is a pleasure to eat here . Thank you so much to the owner Thank you Peter as always a pleasure to serve you

Very homely place. Staff were all lovely and friendly. We were only going for drinks but were so tempted by the displays. We had very, very nice hot food. We just sat for ages resting and enjoying the place. We did not find it too pricey at all. We will go back one day if we go to Aberdare again. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Great, friendly local cafe in Tonypandy. Lovely atmosphere with the group who seem to in here most Saturday mornings. Breakfasts are enough for an army. So are the door-stoppers they serve for toast. Just wish some people could learn to close the door when entering or leaving, then that nice lady wouldn't have to get up every time. Recommended.

Very nice area and views to sit on patio overlooking lakes and mountains.. Visited for the first time after walking around lake on walking trail, arriving at the café at 4.50pm knowing that the website states that café service was available from 10.00am to 5.00pm, on requesting drinks from the staff within the time stated only to be told that the Café was closed and no longer serving, we passed four other senior hikers who informed us that they entered the café at approx. 4.45pm after their 13 mile hike and was also told by the two employees that service was finished and they could not have drinks, we informed the ladies that the clock in the café and we showed them on our phone that it was only 6 minutes to 5.00pm, they would not serve us with drinks, so we left, passing the hikers who we saw leaving the café earlier, all four people were in their 60's and only wanted drinks after their 13 mile hike, they stated they would never return to the café and area again to hike and they would inform other fellow hikers of their experience.. We are visiting family and friends from Costa Rica and wondered what happened to "The Welcome in the Hillside" that we had been bought up with, obviously the two employees do not offer this type of Welsh hospitality.. We also informed our friends and neighbors of our experience, knowing how "Word & Mouth" can make or break a business, we were told that a two families with small children visited the Lakeside Café for lunch one sunny day and after receiving their meals, one of the mothers asked for a small plate to give one toddler some of her meal, as may parents will do is share their meals with small children who cannot eat a full meal, but the mother was refused an additional plate for her child and was told if she needed a plate she must pay for a meal, again what happened to the great "Welcome in the Hillside:. I hope for the Rhondda economy, being an old Welsh Rhondda Boy, that this info is reviewed and addressed by the people who can correct this problem.. Thank You..

I wrote this review when Delicious first opened, however it got lost somewhere on TripAdvisor waiting for the listing to be approved. I've left it in it's entirety however there are significant changes to the review so I'll do an update on my next visit!Should mention NOW OPEN 7 DAYS a week !!First time visit to a recently opened lunch experience/cafe/ice cream parlour and was totally charmed by the whole experience.Large forecourt which when there's space offers parking, otherwise just park in the side street.Very clean and inviting decor, welcoming and accomodating staff, beautifully laid out selection of salads/pastas and good variety of eat in/take out lunch options. Rated 5 by RCT Council.Choices of salad options on blackboards including regular salad £2.95 large salad £3.50 (any number of salad ingredients included, plus one protein option ie cheese, ham, turkey, chicken, you choose, extra protein £1 per selection) packaged in take out containers or presented beautifully if eating in. Nice selection of speciality proteins including sweet chilli chicken, BBQ pork, coronation chicken, tuna mayo besides the more expected ham, turkey, roast pork and chicken. Add a dressing (8 to choose from) and you have a healthy and filling lunch.Baked potatoes from £3.50 (you can choose fillings from proteins list with or without cheese).Selection of hot and cold pastas. Omelettes with option of 2 fillings (£3) 3 fillings (£3.50) or 5 fillings (£5), all served with side salad and dressing.Current meal deal which includes regular hot drink for £1 with any meal.Selection of barista-style hot drinks, cold cans, confectionery, crisps, cakes and savoury bakes.Seating for 16 at tables/sofas at rear. Childrens highchairs (2) available. M and F Toilets. Disabled friendly (wide door access to cafe). They also do a phone in order/delivery service for offices/workplaces etc and can cater for functions/buffets. (Minimum order £10).Fully stocked Marios Italian style Welsh produced ice cream bar.My suggestions to make delicious even better:Move the cutlery baskets to where they can easily be reached - tucked away around the corner not user friendly.Serve your drinks with saucers, nothing worse than having to find somewhere to put a wet and frothy spoon after stirring cappuchino.A selection of 'missing' salad accompaniments could be considered - maybe olives; mixed seed selection ie pine nuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds; crunchy bacon bits; cripsy onions - all lovely and different finishing garnishes. How about a loyalty card?Highly recommended. I give it 5* (and I'm fussy!). Great place to meet for lunch over a coffee, or simply phone your lunch order in and collect a takeaway salad to go.I shall be recommending delicious to all my friends and may I wish Matthew and his staff every good wish for it's success.

After spending a few hours, tidying up family plots at the cemetery, i was famished. Cafe Cafe did not disappoint, the prices are very reasonable, £6 for a huge breakfast with a large latte. The food was tasty, the service fast, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Will return in the future.

Who are we? We are HIGH STREET SOCIAL, TREORCHY - the key part of our name is SOCIAL. A place to meet, relax and enjoy great Welsh cuisine, awesome coffee, camaraderie and a new vibe. Underpinning this is what we call in Welsh our "Anian" - there's no dir
One of my favourite places for breakfast. The pancake stack with Welsh bacon is a particular favourite and pretty filling. Coffee is good and seems to be getting even better. Jack is a laugh out front and thereâs always a good welcome and decent service - a rare commodity these days. Clean and tidy. 5 stars I reckon, just wish theyâd open on a Monday and Tuesday too.
