Things to do in Reykholt
We are a small cafe/restaurant in the country, located in Biskupstungur, near Gullfoss and Geysir. We serve all kinds of pastries, along with soup and pizzas. We also offer coffee, cocoa, sodas and alcohol. We look forward to welcoming you to our cafe.
We stopped for a cup of coffee and hot chocolate and were treated to one of the best beverages in Iceland. There looked to be a group of locals enjoying lunch behind us - what a great place to spend a few minutes with such a view.
Riverside cafe & Bistro is a coffee shop in the heart of Selfoss. It is located next to/inside Hotel Selfoss. Great coffee, food, drinks and sweets. Perfect for families. Good wheelchair access and toilets. Welcome everyone.
After many hours in flight, car rental hell, and an hour in the car as we motors towards Vik, we lucked into this place. Sweet server, decent food, especially the fish and chips (ample, truly enough for 2)

After spending time at the spa, we went to the cafe to grab something warm to eat before boarding our tour bus. What a nice place this was! Instead of having very expensive, substandard items to soak the tourists, they offered delicious fare at a reasonable price. Whether you want coffee, tea, soup, a sandwich, or have time for a real meal, you won't be let down.
This is the nicest place I've been to in Iceland, and I've lived here my whole life!Grænan kannan is a rather large café in a remodeled greenhouse. It's run by residents of Sólheimar Eco Village and seems to function as a community center as well. The service is very basic, but the coffee is excellent, all the cups and saucers are made in Sólheimar and the locals are the nicest people on the planet.Iceland's feel good legend, Reynir Pétur, is likely to strike up a conversation, and oh boy, are you in for a treat. His knowledge is vast, and only falls in the shadow of his enthusiasm and positive attitude.Take a walk around the village as well, the gift shop next door sell almost exclusively local made goods.Attention! Græna kannan is only open for four hours a day during weekends in winter, so check their opening hours.
A friendly, family run café in the beautiful West region of Iceland. We serve coffee, tea and hot chocolate, cold sodas, juice and locally brewed lemonade. We have various cakes and sandwiches on our menu but our speciality is home made Belgian waffles wi
Very, very nice visit at Heimskringlan. Excellent and yummy refreshments. The buisness is family run and you can learn about the history of the school and people that lived before. Snorralaug is right behind the corner so you can say that this was a very cultural visit! Will come again!

Great find as we were searching for our cottage , the gentlemen was so helpful with directions. A small little cafe with offering sweet delights and hot and cold beverages plus . We found our cottage and during our trip to the Fontana spa we decided to stop and have our lunch at Galleri Laugarvatn . We thanked the owner again for his directions and ordered lunch . I had the cauliflower soup with the freshly baked Rye âHot Springâ bread, it was utterly delicious ! A cappuccino and a shared cookie with plenty of spring water . My partner had the Rye bread with the smoked trout from the lake and said it was Fantastic! If your going by this way please stop in , itâs a hidden gem!!

The Geysir Center is just another large gift shop but interesting none the less. Prices are kinda high so we passed on souvenirs. There were some eats but not cheap.

Restaurant - Tourist Information - Icelandic design and souvenirs Bruaras is a perfect "hub" for good food, authentic Icelandic souvenirs and useful information. Located only 2 km from the amazing Hraunfossar waterfalls and only 120 km. from Reykjavik. An
I thought this place was a tad cynical and a bit style without substance. Fries in a shiny pretend miniature frying basket irritate me!I still can't get my head around Iceland's economy and the astronomical prices they charge, but because of the clean natural environment you expect food that is somehow an extension of that. Anyhow, we ordered two bowls of meat soup and a small beer. It came to almost the equivalent of â¬40. It just seemed the soup was formulaic. This place struck me as a place whereby the young staff deep fry or heat certain items up. There doesn't seem to be much cooking going on. At least not when we were there. I get the feeling, that with the exception of fried items everything comes from the fridge to the plate or from the fridge to the microwave to the plate. Our soup was clearly a packet of soup that had more natural items added. In our cases there were 3 or 4 pieces of lamb, a few slivers of carrot and I think turnipy type vegetable. It tasted like packet soup too. It came with one of those pre-baked bread rolls from a packet. My feeling is, if you are going to charge so much for something so modest than, make it great and unforgettable. Make it from scratch and with TLC. It reeks of tourist trap. I can't imagine if locals were dining out they'd go anywhere near this place.

Lovely restaurant and Cafe in Selfoss.
On our tour of Iceland, a friend and I stopped in here for some lunch. We both enjoyed our hamburger and chicken burger with fries. My friend especially enjoyed her cafe latte (served with a tiny square of chocolate). The service was prompt, setting enjoyable. Note for those with mobility limitations: the washroom is up a steep flight of stairs and not easy to navigate.
