Loved it so much, I dined there three of 6 days. Stylish, great cocktails, and just an overall super nice dining experience. Staff is attentive, food thoughtfully prepared, and just nice vibes for those who aren't into the younger messy crowds.

Had a wonderful breakfast at "The Garden Cafe" which is located in the hotel called "Hotel in the Shade." It's a small outdoor cafe surrounded by tropical plants. Had the "The Ranchero" for breakfast. Tortillas topped with black beans, eggs and avocado. Includes cilantro pesto and cumin sour cream. It was delicious. Also, they have great coffee.

Right on the beach, so they have the view and they position the tables right underneath the trees. The shakes are very tasty, we received the message, they never add sugar...Try a Papaya/Banana shake it´s very tasty. We had the Huevos Rancheros as breakfast, compared to other breakfasts we had in Costa Rica: great!

This is just a short walk up from Avellanas Beach and is a wonderful place to get a burger, fish sandwich and a beer. The owner/ chef was delightful and everything was prepared from scratch, so enjoy the Caribbean time and sip a beer or soda while you wait for your meal. It is basic with picnic style tables, some stools at the bar, but in the midst of the gently swaying trees and relaxing atmosphere. You will not go wrong making this a stop on your trip.

Was there during World Cup this year....very good service, drinks and food. Enjoyed relaxing out of the sun with a cold one! The meals were very good, esp the fresh fish plates. Very nice smoothies too. A very nice setting to watch the waves and surfers. Friendly and helpful staff everytime.

We visited this place for Ice cream cones one hot afternoon and checked out the other small food stands. All of them looked clean and nice. We went back for dinner and enjoyed some Pancit. The Bar is set up in a small boat. Interesting!

I used to work right next to this restaurant and would eat here every week. I should have rated them sooner. The lunch and breakfast food are really good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good healthful option in Tamarindo. The coffee is so good and the view is great too! The food is fantastic! Had the gallo pinto, the typical Costa Rican meal and it was perfect! The homemade bread is fantastic, daughter asked if we could buy a whole loaf. The avocado toast, best we have ever had. And the lemonade, wow!!! Everything was wonderful and we are so glad we found this place! Visited here for lunch after spending the morning at a pretty secluded beach about 10 miles away. We purposefully avoided the restaurants facing the beach. Found this little gem quite by accident. We recently rented a home and had Jen cater in 3 meals along with some snacks and desert items! So grateful we choose this route!
