Things to do in Oswestry

Stopped in Oswestry for lunch and after a quick walk round decided this looked the best of the local options. Very friendly staff and an interesting selection of lunch options. I had a Brie & bacon panini which was nicely presented with coleslaw, crisps & salad â good quality & tasty. My wife had a jacket potato which she found disappointing as it didnât have a crispy skin and was a bit watery inside. Cakes etc looked very tempting but we would probably look elsewhere if visiting Oswestry again.

Saw this place, it looked great the previous day so while in Oswestry with some friends on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm we went in for some late lunch. We sat down only to be told that after 3pm they didnt serve food by a very friendly nice man. We were really dissapointed so left and looked elsewhere. The place was really nice to....maybe when we are next there we will pop in again.Dear Cher24,We are sorry that you didn't get to eat with us last week and we hope that when you return to Oswestry you might try us out and give a review based on the food and service you get. Our customer feedback is important to us and we thank you for writing us up, if not a little put out at a 1 star. Our kitchen always closes at 3pm Wednesday to Saturday. If you do come back anytime before 3pm. Our best regards,Cafe Radio

Tourist information and good tea coffee + lunches
This is the old Oswestry school and has some real heritage. A fascinating building too. This is rather better than a simple cafe. It seems to attract lots of visitors and walkers alike. The service is quick and friendly. The food was freshly cooked and was prepared with fresh ingredients rather than being 'mass produced'. The dishes we had seemed to have a very handmade feel to them, which was lovely. The day we went - Sat lunchtime - it was packed and it seemed to attract an older client though I see no reason why this is not a family place but not a 'teens day out!' I was therefore really impressed with the service and the time we waited for the food to come. They did rally well. Only gripe, my cappuccino was very poor and watery but I did not return it. I am sure/hope it was a one off. Their welcome walkers with their well behaved dogs so that might be a help if you are in the area. The cost was reasonable. Worth a visit as it is clear that it is run with a sense of pride which is pleasing. There may well be an exhibition on upstairs when you go to.

Proprietors, Sandra and Jane are very welcoming and always have a good story to tell. Food is excellent and prepared fresh every time; good choice of drinks and cakes - homemade scones are especially yummy. Really relaxing place to go and have elevenses or lunch and if it looks full on arrival, remember to check the lovely room upstairs.Definitely recommend you try here before anywhere else - 10/10 xx

Cold, damp Sunday afternoon in January. Looking for a place for a cup of tea and slice of cake. What a real find, hidden away, although sign posted, this great cafe, sat alongside the Montgomery canal. Fantastic, quirky collection of books, cards and other gifts for sale. Loose leaf tea with great standard coffee. The almond flour and ginger cake was superb. This is a superb place, we will be back.

Market day in Oswestry is Wednesday when the town becomes vibrant with many shoppers. This cafe is tucked away down an impressively decorated passage & round the corner! It is a good place to meet up with friends. There was no menu as such, when we enquired, but there were a couple of boards. We chose our snacks & it was not long before they arrived. The food was generally good, but the dolmas, although tasty, could have been better. We found the background music too loud as we wanted to talk. We requested for it to be turned down, but we did not notice any difference!

I was treated to a breakfast in here by a group of friends who use it regularly.Totally awed by it.Our orders were taken, I ordered the monster breakfast, but jiggled the contents slightly due to allergies, which was no problem.Despite the fact that the place was bursting at the seams with customers, our food arrived quickly, piping hot, & cooked to perfection. The staff are so helpful & polite, nothing is too much trouble.Thank you for spending the time in reviewing Munchies Diner and for your comments, we hope to see you back soon.

Visit with my daughter's.. I had the most amazing Mushrooms on Toast with salsa verde..not only did it look beautiful but tasted amazing. We also had the full breakfast and they were more than happy to swap options around..Attentive, friendly service every time we visit with new dishes like quiche and the spicy tomato soup. Lovely lunch, everything was lovely and fresh. Had a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich which was lovely. Unfortunately we had our dog with us so couldn't eat inside however therewas a small table outside under cover which we sat at to eat our meal. There was a heater above to keep us warm and nothing was too much trouble for the nice staff.
