We came to Dom Alfonso for a quick bite and some coffee. What a surprise to find inside an old basket press that was used for the Ginja-liquor manufactured here at Obidos. Beside the tourists, we saw some local people coming here for a coffee. We did like the traditional pastry they make here.

Nuno and his partner always make us feel welcome when we visit here. The squid is absolutely delicious and great value. Itâs possible you could share this dish for 2 people. If you are looking for great tasting local food at reasonable prices, donât miss a visit to this restaurant.

This place is an open air terrace right in the centre of the popular tourist town of Obidos. You cannot expect prices to be other than at the upper end but the surroundings, the shade and the opportunity to see the world pass by is tempting. It could be so much better but the establishment seems to lack a decent kitchen and prep area.
