We headed here on a short trip up the coast and picked this place to have what we hoped was a lovely breakfast based on previous reviews Sadly our experience was awfulI appreciate we were there amid the local witch festival but the service was very slowHowever worst to comeI specifically ordered a non dairy option and was appalled to start to eat it and taste cheese. My wifeâs scrambled egg was horrid.... my children cook it betterOur coffees never arrived Our complaint was heard professionally by another staff member but damage was done, we left

Our fist stop as we arrived in Salem. We needed a cool drink and something between a snack and a meal. We found it. We each tried an iced tea. You can open the jars and smell more than 30 different mixtures. I had Rhapsody which is a Chinese black tea with black berry and raspberry in it. Delish cold. I choose a small sandwich as well with brie, ham, and jam. Just right. The decor was like a tea room but not straight-backed and starched; very cozy with windows.Don't forget to use the restroom because it has the most amazing wall paper!

The Ugly Mug Diner our a modern take on classic American diner fare. Everything is made from scratch, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and always served with love. In addition to our extensive food menu, we also have a huge variety of mimosas, a
Upon arriving, we were yelled at for bringing in outside coffees and told we had to leave the outside. I have never heard of such a thing and it wasnât like we werenât going to be buying beverages and food in there. The woman was just not nice about it. She was rude all around. I get it itâs October. I visit Salem often and year round and it wasnât even that busy. She was rude to everyone sitting at the counter and just kept saying âweâre busy.â Girl, if you canât handle a busy diner in October, waitressing in Salem is not for you. Everyone there was just not personable. Thankfully the pancakes PUMPKIN were delicious. Unfortunately I will not return. So many places to eat in Salem with happy hosts! Sorry to hear you had a less than stellar experience with our staff, Jamie! I will say that the prohibition of any outside food or beverages is a legal stipulation of our beer and wine license issued by the city, it's just not some arbitrary policy we have at the restaurant with the hopes of stuffing a few more bucks into our pocket. I honestly don't even think I would care that much if people could bring their own beverages in, I would just feel bad if they're missing out on the awesome drinks we offer. So I am sorry if someone on our staff seemed short with you, but she was just looking our for the restaurants best interests and as you said, it is October, and I'm sure it was busy - everyone wants to walk around town with a warm cider or pumpkin coffee this time of year, ya know? I'm definitely not saying you were rude to her, either, I did not see the interaction. However, I will say that we have the most wonderfully introverted group of servers I've ever worked alongside during my sixteen years in the restaurant industry and If one of them ever "yelled at" anyone, I would pay good money to see it. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you at least enjoyed the food, we make everything with love. I DO hope you decide to change your mind and give us another chance in the future, however! We would love to win you over!

We were not familiar with Beverly when we decided to have lunch. Tartine Kitchen stood out as a bright, clean restaurant that seemed popular with locals, so we stopped in. Meals are ordered at the front counter and delivered to your table. The menu was filled with "tartines." Although we travel extensively in Europe, we had to ask, with some embarrassment, âWhat is a tartine?â It is simply an open-faced sandwich topped with a wide range of ingredients (French in origin). The menu was long, but the selection was straightforward. We took our excellent coffees to the table and the meals came in reasonable time. The quality was good, and we enjoyed the experience. The facility appeared to have been recently built or renovated, resulting in a clean appearance. It was not too crowded, but still popular. We would return.

Iâm not a full fledged vegan yet, but Iâm trying. But I really enjoyed my Margherita âpizzaâ, healthy and natural and tasty! It was made with cashew mozzarella, basil and fresh tomato on a base of tomato sauceMy wife had a Thai Bowl she just raved about it. We checked out the dessert case for sweets but opted to forego tonight. But it definitely is a wonderful reason to return. Wish our server, Madison had introduced herself. Again, Iâm having to ask their names.

Go to the Two Sisters for breakfast, and immediately you are one of the family. The staff is friendly and so efficient. The food, to die for. Everything is homemade, the French toast is light and fluffy, and the meats, sausage patties, links, ham, bacon and spam. The muffins are huge and homemade, small place, but the wait is never long. Love the Two Sisters Coffee Shop, but bring cash.

Seated and served quickly, coming off a warm walk around town (centrally located). The fish taco was gigantic, the sandwiches made with select bakers breads and the salads filling, mixing ingredients and delicious. Iced teas came in several flavors. Very enjoyable and filling.

*Now taking reservations for large group functions September-April* BONS winners for fried clams and clam chowder we serve classic New England seafood with recipes dating back to 1956. Featuring 12 specialty home made desserts, local fresh (never frozen)
The people at the little maritime museum across the way recommended this restaurant. We were looking for a late afternoon snack. It looks like a diner from the outside. It is gigantic inside. Many rooms. Our snack turned into a great fried Ipswich Belly clam lunch/dinner. One platter was enough for us to share with a cup of chowder to start. I rarely get fried clams, as they are usually small, and stringy. These were nice big belly clams and fresh. Two sides came with it. The slaw was very good and we got the green beans. The cornbread was like a dessert! Service was friendly and attentive. Drink refills came when needed.

A lively New England cafe located in beautiful Manchester-by-the-Sea with a French Bistro Theme. Recently reopened under new family ownership Allie's features breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and takeaway We fetaure weekly wine dinners and casual wine
The place has gone "upscale" and that means that the prices are 2.5X higher than they were, the menu is far less extensive, and you can't just get a simple breakfast. Bummer. I suppose they'll do well, but we won't be back.Tom Sorry you feel that way. However , our prices are in line with all of the other breakfast places in the area and I don't understand what you mean by a simple breakfast what's more simple than waffles, pancakes, bacon, and eggs. I completely understand that people aren't always thrilled with change but at least your shoes dont stick to the floor or your clothes smell like grease when you leave anymore. U think our menu is very extensive covering all of the basic breakfast and lunch items as before as well as n ew healthier and contemporary specualties. Anything tou dont see on the menu i can probably make as well.Try us again Im sure you will like it.Kind RegardsGlenn Varga
